does love have to be perfect?

The love we get from those in our lives that's sometimes, once in a while, noticeable,

that's mixed with the arduousness of life's chores, responsibilities and

the rough and ready mix of emotions...is it telling me love

doesn't have to be perfect? Is it telling me I am asking my relationships to be perfect?

We each have a language of love. That which means something to each of us,

that we have to learn about each other...when we start to come together..so that we reassure each

other with the affirmations we give.

Maybe sometimes it would be nice to find a love that matches how we want to be

or how we like to be in the world... bright and shiney and high energy....or supple,

flexible and ready to catch you in case you stumble.

I struggle with some familial relationships I have but I know it's important to

be grateful. I bet I am not alone that I have a relationship that vexes me

so much. Turns me around each time and leaves me having to rebuild my sense

of self...re-find what matters to me...and the will to get on with taking care of responsibilities

to keep on keeping on. But I can do it. I am so grateful for you guys.

Sending love and peace,

Mark

does love have to be perfect?

i question whether love CAN be perfect. where, oh where will i ever find another so perfect as i so that we can love perfectly ever after? more and more i believe the perfect love will be possible after we develop the perfect human. that development program to commence immediately after the perfect committee settles on a definition of "PERFECT." dissenters will be persecuted.

methinks i'm lost in metaphor, AGAIN. . .
it's a shooting match here in my perfect metaphorical fog.

Love perfect. No, it does not find perfect. Love finds acceptance in feelings, caring, sharing, and being with peace with another person, including our own selves.

Along the same lines…. Yesterday I was talking to my Dr. And I said it’s just kind of difficult to not know what the person’s reaction would be. Maybe this thought is along the same lines. It’s helpful to me in any case.:)

the more certain i am that i KNOW how another person will react, the more wrong i usually am and the greater the hurt from my inaccurate assumption is likely to be. i'd rather look like a fool for asking than look to like a tyrant for assuming.

in general, i find love is easier when i don't even try to understand. my job's not to understand you. i need only love you until you understand yourself. this is triple true of the love of my life who has dedicated 42 years to keeping me confused.

again, I think it has a lot to do with my search for putting myself out there and then the predictability yet also coming to know the greater power of acceptance and humanity..
Sometimes in my ultra focused temperament or I guess somehow I am learning to see this stuff.
