doctor call
Hello dear friends,
We received a call from Steve's cancer specialist today. He presented Steve in a meeting with all the cancer doctors Monday of this week. His nurse told us that as a group they believe that Steve would benefit from palpative care. She asked Steve how he would feel about that. I was very quiet as we both were on the phone. Steve looked at me and said is that part of hospice? She assured him that thier main concern was his comfort. And she encouraged him to come for a visit. After a few seconds Steve told her he was willing to try anything to help with the pain. He is my hero.
I have been a nervous wreck all afternoon. My insides feel as if they were quivering. I know in my heart it is the right thing to do and I have tried to be up beat with him. How did we get here from a broken rib? Chemo is not letting it heal and he can't stop the chemo because of kidney distress. So here we are. 14 years of fighting and I am wimping out now? Not by a long shot, My GOD IS IN CONTROL! I admit I am scared but I will do this and be there for Steve no matter what! Like a lot of you have already done for your husbands.
I found this in my daily devotion by Anne Graham Lotz, Dr Billy Graham's daughter:
Neither death nor life...
or things present nor things to come....
shall be able to separate us from the love of God.
Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
she went on to say that there would be nothing to separate us from each other or from God. Ever!
Praise God for his promises!!
love you all,
Wanda
Please join me in praying for Meriel's David. He is close to ending his journey on earth. I pray for God's mercy.

Sometimes I have to read then the next day come back and reread to post in your journals Wanda. You are constantly on my mind and I don\'t know what to say. I have been where you stand though I have God, my faith was not involved in this one. And as a matter of fact, when I came to DS I searched for someone to help me refind it because nothing made since to me anymore. You my friend have been here for a long time and my heart sometimes just bleeds for you then I get happy I want to touch your family and make it all better for you. I am like everyone here for you always. I pray for you and yours every day. I pray the doctors can manage the physical pain Steve is in and that our Lord can manage both your pain(s) of the heart.
Love, Christi
