do I write a love letter to my life?

This morning I was not so content in services.

My mind was generating invasive thoughts

and thoughts of my own vascilations about things

as well as wanting things that I do not have in my life.

Like a partner. My therapist has said to me that at a certain point

people decide about having everything they want in life or just somethings

as is the case for most of us.

I thought about the unique path we are each on - and the hollowness

or partial hollowness that can create within - but still we need to keep on keeping on.

I questioned whether social media has played a role in me wanting to be completely

fulfilled and because that is the norm in that space.

Depressing thoughts aside (with intention) I fed the chickens and cats this

morning and I reminded myself it is something I enjoy.

and I thought...do I write a love letter to my life each day?

And remind myself of what I appreciate and love in my life?

It kind of make sense to me

Sorry, this was kind of deluded

i thought it was the delusions we gathered here to sort. . . just thinking, despite the fact that thinking gets me into so much trouble. i keep trying to kick the habit, but those invasive thoughts keep right on invading, despite my best efforts.

wouldn't a daily love letter to your life be an artsy version of a gratitude list? i gain a great deal of attitudinal benefit from my gratitude lists. more recently those have morphed into my ongoing gratitude prayers.

I’m down in Frederick now, doing an errand at the Walmart for the monastery. I’ve stopped at the Starbucks to get a coffee. Maybe this is enough of the outside world for me. As I drove back to the monastery I was glad I have the sisters to come back to. It is like any other family. A culture of survival together and then the outside world to relate to. I dropped the goods off at the chapel and then rushed home to see my love Blue.

the notion of 'gratitude lists.' really helps arfie. THANKS!!
it helps me keep mindful that we're all a little derailed
by what we want in life and that which we have and yet don't have
and so a gratitude check in is in order to help
ground me a bit. I yearn for the indescribable
at times - and maybe that kind of yearning is specific to me
- some may not have that - but to be pulled out of my
headspace to remember to be grateful and also mindful
of the great stuff I have in my life really helps!
I wonder if I can be mindful about creating things in my life
that I am yearning for - rather than just instinctively yearning
without awareness?

i can't imagine you being incapable of mindfully creating things you are yearning for. isn't that precisely what you did with your move to the monastery? keep on stepping, my healing warrior.

the more i think on it, the more i like the idea of love letters to life. can't have too much love in this world. maybe even break out those neglected art callings for some illustrations to go with the love letters.

Big hug sweetie

Gratitude is my best tool along with prayer

I don't think any of us are content all of the time sweetie

I think you're considering a huge step in life

Having things well thought out I believe is important

I do remember though over several when it came to your holidays the Monestary is where you looked forward to being

I can’t give you advice on monastic life, but I can relate to wanting to continue a sense of gratitude for what we have.

I have been grappling with relationship issues that are currently out of reach and unfixable and stuck. To cope, I have turned my efforts outward and writing for community. It’s akin to writing a love letter to life in a way. It feels good to contribute positive and uplifting support and leave others with something that helps them in their artistic path.

It’s not economically supportive for me and completely volunteer, so deal with negativity and judgment, but I have to believe that it can boomerang back to me as good faith from others and future partnerships somewhere and somehow.

So what I am describing, is that we all universally grapple with our existence at times, wondering if other ways of living are better for us….but we do need to learn gratitude for where we are at. If you want to take action and change things, it’s your prerogative to do so. I am in a pivotal place and it’s really hard, and i am exhausted. It may not go as wished for, but at least I can’t say I didn’t try!

And I wish the same for you - that you can live in the moment as you walk through the steps necessary to activate your destination.

Hugs.
