Do I admit this to you guys?

I don't know if I want to whine again.  Yesterday I had brain fart.
Went and got through the rest of Erma's stuff.  The day before I was visiting with relatives.  It has been a non-stop, but not too, too demanding schedule, but I have had to push.
Yesterday started with a prank telephone call and 4am (started tired)  I had to rush to a beauty appointment (hair color) that I forgot to put on my calendar, then rush to Erma's sisters apartment to start the great sort.  Leo, I, and Erma's sister took a lunch break and then Leo and I went and got the furniture.
I had to take another elderly lady to her chiropractor appointment at 2:30 and then decided Leo could eat our doggie bags for his evening meal, because my tummy was still off.  (I had gotten quite ill the evening before) and I decided I would eat a bit of oatmeal.  I put the water on to boil and then went to my office to start reading email...
Thank goodness, I did not fall asleep.  Just forgot that I was cooking completely.  I started smelling something in my office and after a bit, I realized what was going on.  The kettle was, of course, empty as the water had boiled out and it was stuck to the red hot burner.  The porcelain had melted to the burner.  Well after I got the burner turned off, I cried profusely at my stupidity and uselessness (read wallowed in self-pity) and called Leo to confess that I could have burned the house down.
When Leo got home, he cleaned the mess up best he could and is going to get a new burner today.  Of course, he knows what this lady needs.  He took me to dairy queen for ice cream (I will not read blood sugars for a bit) and the smile on my face was back as we ate our Sundays at the boat landing staring at the dark river.
I keep telling you all that the fatigue is what bothers me the most.  I now block most calls at night, so no more prank calls.  It is a bit extreme, but I was frustrated with that.  I cannot wait for IVIG next week.
I hate MG, DM, and any other auto-immune disease!

Debbie,
I have done that same thing a while back . Put tea on sat down on the couch went to sleep. Luckily my husband was home but it still burnt before he knew I had left it on. Ice cream was a good cure to me!

So agree... I hate mg

Ditto Debbie! I am thankful my husband is home now, because I have done the same thing and he is the one that has found it on the burner and luckly before it burns the house down. I just think us women multi task so much and with MG our poor brains can\'t handle like it use to. You are not alone. Hugs, Cathy

Yeah, I did the same thing, a few months back. Our pooch Keeko was still with us, then. I had left the back door to the fenced-yard, open. Keeko greeted Ellen at the gate, when she arrived home from work, saying \'\'whew - glad you\'re home! The old man is trying to burn the house down, the supper on the stove has been smoking away for hours!\'\'
The poor old pooch! (Poor Ellen!) We learned later, from neighbors: Keeko had been trying to flag down passersby, for hours. They\'d come to the fence and pat him - and he\'s say \'\' no-no - you gotta come in! Somebody come help!\'\'

Moral of story: when you\'re too tired, you\'re too tired.
And I was way too tired.
Deb - I love you - you\'re a kindred spirit.
Myself? I gotta slow down, it\'s making my symptoms flare up.
You gotta slow down too, my friend - somehow, somewhere.
Ya gotta slow down.
Medical treatments - just can\'t take the place of good old-fashioned rest.
- Ross
I know you have already cut some things - from your busy schedule.
Keep cutting!

Oh my, that you all have done the same has made me feel so much better (sorry guys.) Yes Ross, I think we are kindred spirits. But with our soft hearts, it is hard to rest sometimes.

Sorted through Erma things this morning before taking to church. Now will rest. Kids are coming for weekend (wedding) so I have to cook and clean sometime. Next week is IVIG. I actually look forward to the two days sleep.

Deb, I bet this was horrible for you. Im so sorry.
It is a fear of mine to do something like this.

I know when I am tiered and pushing things, my brain is no longer able to multi task.

I think that we are so use to doing so many things at once and doing it pretty well, not being able to never crosses our minds, until this type of thing happens.

Micki has told me some wackey things I have done with out even relizing it lately:)

Do rest more. Im just saying, I found out last week, my doc kept me in the hospital an extra 3 days this month because he said he knew if he discharged me home, I wouldnt rest enough and would end up back by the end of the month.

We are hard headed and yes want to keep doing for others but if we go down, we cant help anyone.

You deserve to rest when your tiered. Please take care my friend.

Love

Jeannie

If the bath tub hadn\'t had an overflow, I would have flooded the house a few weeks ago. I think I actually went outside to check on my ferns and got good and distracted. i don\'t remember exactly, I am trying to forget, and I didn\'t get any ice cream :-( b.

How many times have I done this? Can\'t even count how many. I have put tea on and forget it. Once I burnt a hole in the pan and another time, the tea bags scorched so bad the stuck to the pan. I once left grease on the stove to get the door. After talking for a while with someone on the porch, I realized that the grease was in flames. Had to open open doors, windows, turn fans on.
Don\'t feel bad. We understand.

I totally ruined a teapot a few months ago by doing this more than once. Fortunately my poor memory won\'t allow me to remember how many times it took to do the teapot in. You are among friends here and I am so thankful it\'s not just me, lol.

Thanks for sharing your story Debbie! I am very grateful you had your brain fsrt!! Today I went to boil some eggs, thought of your story so put the timer on - just in case! Its times when we are busy these accidents happen and let\'s face it we always have our minds of 100 different things at once and/tired. Last time I overboiled something I quickly took the pot off and without thinking put it on our polished floor. Mmm not such a good idea! Guess who has a permanent reminder of her mistake!! I too am grateful its not me! Take care. Gez

Sorry for the late reply....you have no idea how much I needed to hear I was not alone in my day to day blunders. I used to pride myself in how sharp my memory was. I think it\'s time to come out of the closet and embrace the new us!
By the way...love the new picture.
