Disappointing news

I had the pre-admit and the CAT Scan. After a few days I called the surgeons office just to get an idea of the waiting time. I really hoped it wouldn't be too long.

The assistant told me that unfortunately there are patients who had their pre-admit 2 months before I did, that are still waiting on surgery. The Operating Room reduces hours during the summer, and with that and vacations to work aroung, it will likely be September before I will have surgery.

On July 5 I received a call from the surgeons office. Surgery for one of his patients had to be cancelled because they did not have a special material that was required for that particular patient. Would I be prepared to have surgery on Friday, July 7. Of course, I said yes!

After about 15 minutes I received another call from the surgeons office. The plan was that they were still going to try to get in the special material for the original surgery, and if they did, I would not have surgery Friday. They would confirm Thursday morning.

I received the call Thursday morning by 10:30 am., and if you are reading this, you know they were able to get the special material, and I did not have surgery.

This was very difficult. I wanted the surgery, but I also know that the person who was scheduled to have surgery today, also needed to have the surgery, and that it was possibly more urgent for him/her.

So, I will wait. Like I have said before, it is out of my hands and in God's capable hands whatever the future holds. Things happen as they are supposed to. I have been watched over for all these years, and I hope to be watched over for many, many more years, too.
