Different Day, Different Feeling

This is my favorite time to journal. It's late/early. The world is still quiet and calm.

The past two days I've been the most active all week. I guess I really see the importance of having a purpose to get out of bed every day. It helps to an extent.

I made it to my interview on Thursday. I got the job and I start training on Monday. It's not the starting pay that I wanted but it's something. I really have no emotion toward the whole experience. Am I happy I secured something? Sure. I'm just it taking step by step. Thinking too far ahead adds unnecessary anxiety.

The more I look for work the more I see how tough the job market it. Many places advertise for below minimum wage. It's baffling. Now, I see why people begrudgingly do their jobs without a smile and struggle to make ends meet.

Whether you're freelance, self-employed, or otherwise, making a living gets harder and harder. Price of living goes up while the wages remain the same. It's somewhat of a sobering thought but a relief at the same time. No one has it easy. We're all struggling in some way. It could be low wages to lack of wages or from physical to mental challenges.

I believe my new mode of operation will be slow, consistent steps until I'm back on my feet. That's the best I can do. I'll make the most of what's in front of me and reevaluate as needed.

good on you for getting this job. From little things, bigger things may grow. And I think your plan of taking it slowly and carefully sounds like a really good one. hang on in there, keep a firm hold during anxiety attacks (escape to the loo or something, that's what I do) and stress levels will go down as you find you're able to pay the rent and such.

Don't forget flowers or chocolates for the friend that got you the job. :D
