devastated and sad

My husband and I splitting up after 24 years together.  We married young.  Had our growing pains together - put each other through the worst imaginable turmoils!  Drug/alcohol addictions, mental health, cheating  - the works.  We both love each other very much and are going to try to stay friends.  We both just reached a point , and are on the same page at the same time that we can't go on hurting and/or hurting each other.  The trust will never be rebuilt.  We are constantly jealous and insecure with each other.  We are dissolving the marriage to save the friendship.  It hurts like unbelievable HELL.  We did this to us.  We were going to grow old together and enjoy our retirement travelling and loving each other.  :-(   :-( so sad for all we have lost. . our happy future together.
