destined for loneliness? or, will i ever find what i'm missing?

i feel like ive never been able to make that connection with anyone. does that mean i havent found the right person or people? or does it mean i am incapable of forming relationships with anyone?
i remember feeling like i had a true friend in Trish, in high school. and now i think Aaron is the same, but idk. he's on the other side of a phone.
i desire immensely to have a meaningful relationship, a true soul-connection with someone, yet i feel it's impossible. i feel like something's missing inside of me,, that something that would make that connection possible.
