Depresssion: loss of job and husband with 1 year of each other

Depression:  with the loss of my job and my husband within one year of each other.
I think I am suffering from depression because of the above.  I have not seen a doctor about it but I think its what I got.  I get mad for silly reasons.  I don't want to leave my place but I do have family, friends and boyfriend who get me out of my place.  Its funny how I met the boyfriend through a friend.  When I babysit or by myself, the blackness just engulfs my soul and spirit.  Watching Tyson certainly helps me feel less overwhelmed by the blackness.  Does anyone else suffer from depression after the loss of your spouse or loved one?  I am just curious.  From Diane B.

Yes, I still do. I worry about what will happen to me when I am too old to care for myself...if I reach that point. My sister is older and her life is too much of a mess; I can\'t expect any support from her. The only other family I have are a cousin and my in-laws, with their own lives and families. I still worry about surviving on my own financially. That situation will only get worse in the future, not better. This is an especially bad month for bills with no income from summer. I have to try to stretch my checking account to cover until I get paid more in early Oct. because I am back at work. At least I am starting to paint some rooms. I am sorry you are feeling down. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Hugs, Patti

Of course. I started taking meds days after my Beloved Pat passed away. I have suggested this to you quite a few times. I hope you get something. Hugs, Wendy

I took antidepressents for a long time after Jim died. It did help. Everyone is depressed after such a loss but it is the degree that you are depressed that governs whether you need medication or not. I, too, hope you will see a doctor and explain your symptoms and see what he says. Medication can help you feel better.
