Depression update
First, I want to thank everyone for the support and prayers.
Tim left Wednesday afternoon on a short mission trip. He should be back sometime Saturday or Saturday night. At least I get a break from cooking. Microwave Hotpockets and pot pies work okay for me for a few days.
I started taking Celexa Wednesday, for depression. I feel a little balloon-headed, but that may be because of the constant tension headache. But, I am more calm. I still feel pretty down, but no more suicidal thoughts. This drug is supposed to control the serotonin levels in the brain. The Doc said is is good for migraines, too.
i had an appointment with a counselor this morning. Getting out made me feel a little better, and the counselor is a woman. She pressed me a bit about future plans .... All I could tell her was that everything is a bit in the air, but I am going to do what is best for me.

Well, it sounds like you are on a good path. I took Celexa for a while and I think it helped me. It has an anti-anxiety component as well, so it does make you more calm. Seeing a counselor is good too. It will help you to clarify your thoughts. I\'m so glad to hear that the suicidal thoughts have subsided. You are a dear. Much love. Heather.
Ok so put your legs up and have a bit of Nancy pamper lazy time.We know how hard you work. I hope the new med continues to help you. I\'m happy to hear that you started with a counselor. If she\'s good and helping , then stick with her.If not then find one that you like . I\'m sure Tim has finally realized what he has put you through .Too much insecurity .Thank God the suicidal thoughts are fading. We all get to leave these silly problem making bodies in the end anyway. No point in jumping the que.Believe me, I understand how hard it all gets . Wouldn\'t it be good if we could just change our perspective on it all and develop a good sense of humor.I wish I could be more light hearted and less fearful.I guess we need to practice it. I want to tell you a really funny joke....nope can\'t find one anywhere in this brain . There\'s a guy I know who is paraplegic .His name is Colin and many years ago,he went hang gliding and the wind threw him into the side of a cliff. He sits in his wheel chair in the main street where my shop is, selling joke books and making people laugh. As soon as I can get out of this bed again and back to my shop, I will buy a book from him and send you some jokes.BIG PLAN happening in my life now lol!!
Ok. Better go . Can\'t really go anywhere at present.Better go so I don\'t drive you nuts.
Let\'s both think of 10 good things about our life.Love to you.xo
I\'m Back !!. 1 We\'re both terribly good looking ( I don\'t have to put my glasses on if I don\'t want)
2 You can shoot and defend yourself and I can scream very loud if attacked....so what if I can\'t run.
3 We both have kind, loving and terribly good looking daughters
4 We both belong to the best support group on the planet
5 God loves you. Maybe even me too .( NO 5 at the top of list)
6 Don\'t have to sleep on the street and feel hungry.
7 We are blessed to beable to help others.
Frank needs my attention so have to go sorry xo
I\'m so glad you were able to take the first steps towards healing your depression. I don\'t know anything about Celexa, but if it isn\'t exactly what you need, there are a lot of other options. It\'s great you have a therapist to talk to - Don\'t let her rush you into worrying about future plans. One day at at time at least until you feel a little better. Hugs!
Hi Nancy! I\'m so glad that you were able to get started on some meds and talk to a good therapist. I\'ve had an anxiety order since....forever, and have had quite a few different therapists. They are like night and day! However, I can always tell after the second session, if they \"get me\" or they are just there to put in their eight hours. You deserve the first kind. I pray that this professional will know how to help you get the bad thoughts and ideas away from you. Antidepressants all make you feel a little loopy till you get used to them. I\'m unable to take them. They seem to make me feel racy and uncomfortable, but my daughter has been on Zoloft for years, and it really changed her life as far as depression goes. There is a proper drug for you, and a good therapist will find it for you.
In the meantime I am praying that you will find peace, joy....understanding from Tim and your friends here and in your world that will encourage you and be there for you when you need them.
God is good! He is with you!! I am here! xo
I just wanted to make sure that you know that I do take your depression very seriously and it\'s no laughing matter. However, I was just trying to make you smile. xo
Hi there my friend. I haven\'t been on ds as much so I apologize for the late reply. I wanted to let you know I really really do understand the dark moments. I\'ve been having a harder time emotionally lately as well. I took Celexa years ago and it was helpful. I\'m now on lexapro and considering increasing my dose. Life is so friggin hard. Life with chronic illness is even harder! I\'m so glad you are feeling an ease of the suicidal thoughts. It can be so very scary to get to that place. And I am glad you shared with us because now we can support you in all.of our individual ways. I hope you know you are so very loved and I will keep sending prayers. Also, I posted a link in one of my last journals about an article on suicide. It was profound to me. Just wanted to mention if you wanted to take a look. We love you Nancy and your life matters sweetie!!!!
Yay!! So glad the meds are helping and the counselling sounds good too. I read that 80% of the time depression can be effectively managed, even reversed. Rooting for you.
