Delayed emotions
Its been 5 weeks since dennis Surgery and three weeks since I went back to work. I was surprised when I noticed I was more emotional ( Army brat !) . I guess its a delayed reaction . I never cried when we got the diagnosis , I was just stressed and jumped to goal mode. Being a Store Manager I am always getting bad news ( ha ) and skipping to solution and Goal mode. I did this with Dennis , it was all about each step and what needed to be done ect. ect. ..The other day Dennis and I were out and he said the Cancer had him freaked out. He just had his Liver ultrasound and is scheduled for a colonoscopy November 1st. I think my body is finally saying its ok to be more emotional . The issue is , it show's up in the darndest place. I can be talking to a customer or an employee and some thing we are discussing triggers me emotional ( which is unusal ) . I am ok with it , and plan to do some things to work towards a relief. Writting , playing my guitar , getting a massage and things along those lines. I am a recovery alcoholic 12 years now and know its important to work on self care.
Well to all my DS friends , thanks for being here. Your on my mind and heart

Hi Gail,
I think it\'s a pretty normal reaction. Having been so strong right since Dennis\'s diagnosis, now your body is telling you it\'s OK to let all that held-in emotion out. So much better to have a cry, rather than keep it all inside.
Good Morning Gail!
I experienced almost the exact same thing. We hold our emotions in to get through and support our men. When things settle down, our bodies tell us, \"Wow...you\'ve been through alot, girl....SCREAM & CRY!\"
