Decisions towards my recovery

Now that you have heard my story, these are a few decisions I have made to help towards my recovery.... I happen to have broken up with my ex-boyfriend Jay last February of 2008. I didnt want a new boyfriend because our relationship lasted 6 years. Plus, since as far as I can remember, I havent been WITHOUT a boyfriend. Jay was my friend for a year before we started going out so I see him as a friend now. Well, since I am human and have needs I have been sleeping with him so I dont have to go to other men (I dont like to sleep around so why not be intimate with the last right?) I realized that as soon as I felt I needed to be in a relationship, things between me and Jay got sour. He didnt like the thought and pleaded I go back to him. Jay has women issues where the woman before me hurt his feelings, BAD. So its hard for him to treat women right and be a gentleman and the list goes on. So i know thats not what I wanted to go back to PLUS that was the reason why I left him. I told Jay that I am trying to change for myself and by doing so would help our friendship out since I have issues I need to handle other than men issues such as self identity issues and soforth. He shocked me when he felt that we couldnt be friends because he didnt see us that way and its either we are together or nothing. I felt like I just wasted 6 years of my life with an idiot who didnt care about my recovery because he was too caught up in his feelings of loving me. I think he also has the disease LOVING TOO MUCH :)  Nontheless, I have decided to isolate myself from people that don't make me feel good inside so I can focus on making myself feel good and to my surprise all the people in my life (about 5 people) I realized werent good for me in some way! One of them was good but didnt treat me as if I was because she knew my inconsistancies. Thats my fault. Then I had a self realization...maybe the people in my life werent good for me because I was the one making them feel that way about me so it was hard for them to accept me??? And of course because of the unstable relationship I had with them. So now I am isolated and reading over and over the recovery section of my book and alsodoing things that I like to do so I can find myself in those things.
