Decision paralysis
Every mistake I make causes me to doubt my judgement. Now, I am reaching a level of paralysis. My wife and I are looking for Au Pairs to take of the kids when she goes back to work. The process is frustrating as every one we've liked and approached has declined us. Now we are in contact with two that are below or original expectation. We have to choose to either accept one of them or decline both of them soon. And I am paralyzed. If we decline them, what is the chance we would find anyone in line with our expectations, or even up to their level? If we offer the job to one of them, what happens if it turns out bad and we have to search for another Au Pair? At that point we are committed and finding alternative child care during the search will be impossible. I don't want to just settle. My children deserve better than that, but I don't want to lose this opportunity if its the best I'm going to get and derail my wifes career. I don't feel that I can trust my judgement either way.
