Decision made going forward with IVF

Any tips for preparing for IVF? I want to be both mentally and physically prepared for this. I'm trying to remain positive that this is going to work! I just don't want to count my eggs before they hatch= HA!! No pun intended. What do you all do in prep for your IVF journey?

I took CoQ10 and Pychogenol. Both are good for egg quality so I was told. My RE actually recommended them. I was on them for like 6 months before retrieval. I have also been told that a high protein/low carb diet is helpful in preparing your body. Once I started stimming I stopped exercising. That\'s just me. Good luck!!

I took what Katie did, plus micronized DHEA, vitamin D & flaxseed oil. All per my RE instructions. Has your RE mentioned to you what you should be taking supplement-wise?

For us what our fertility doc told us was just try to be in the best shape possible for yourself. (don\'t kill yourself at the gym or anything) and try to remove any stress that you have the power to get out of your life gearing up for your upcoming IVF. For me it was just as simple as talking less to certain high drama friends and emotionally draining family members and deleting crazy people on FB that wouldn\'t know we were no longer connected anyway. We kept VERY tight lipped out about fresh cycle IVF. My main outlet was putting all my play by play thoughts and feelings out here in DS world in my journal. Good luck friend! We are all here cheering you on! *HUG!!

I did a lot of what tvtpetal did. I made sure my mind was well protected because I knew I would be emotionally drained so that meant not seeing emotionally draining people, making sure I only had positive people around and keeping stress especially from work at a low. And I journal\'d at DS which brought a lot of relief.

Physically, I didn\'t stop exercising and I kept up with my fitness regime up until the 2ww where I only did leisurely walking. Keeping fit and healthy helped with my emotional stability, kept me from gaining weight (the hormones you take can make you gain weight) and it also helped my body prepare for the physical toll it was going through. Everyone\'s body is different though.

Good luck! May I ask when your starting, I\'m starting a fresh cycle in July (hopefully) maybe we\'ll be cycle buddies :D

I agree with Jaydee and tntpetal. I ate healthy and worked out regularly to get myself into a healthy state of mind. Yoga helped relieve stress too. I stopped workin out after the retrieval though. I\'m happy you chose a plan! Good luck with your cycle!!

Thanks ladies! I appreciate all the tips. My RE just recommended a multivitamin but I am going to do that plus your suggestions. Anything special for the DH to do?
We are probably looking at July or August. My RE\'s office is sending a packet in the mail that details everything. She said it is a process.
I will be taking 2 days off work for the retrieval and 2 days off for the transfer. Does that sound feasible? Also, what are your thoughts on telling the boss??

My husband took coq10 and flax seed along with a multi vitamin and 400mcg of Folic acid! Hope that helps!
