Dec 20

This is my third try to write this journal.  Something is working against me tonight.  I did turn off electronics just to BE.  I did reflect on Mikes life, and how much he is missed.  Do you believe it has been 9 years where did time

go......  The twins have decorated the tree and living room for Christmas.  I was not interested in cooking for Christmas I just want to play with the girls, we only know how short life can be.  Now that I have time to deal with dinner issue I have come across a crock pot ham recipe and a corn casserole all made in crock pots good thing I have 2.

I still go to the gym without it I would be a hot mess not just a mess every now and then LOL. It is the physical work that does me good, I am not losing weight this time of year to many goodies coming into the office.  Hubby is not improving at all. He will only go further down hill.  If Mike were still here then he would be able to keep hubby going and doing things, like used to do years ago.

Dear Mike I have come up with a New Years resolution for you.  You need to show up more often

It is always so shocking to me when I think about all the years that have passed. 9 years is a lifetime...and then an instant. Take gentle care of yourself and I hope you find some happiness this holiday.

Love you, Penny, and your New Year's resolution is the BEST! I'm with you for simple preparations on this day and am making my traditional Swiss ham casserole for tomorrow's brunch. I can hear Douglas run downstairs and talk about how good it smells. SO many memories and the creating of new ones as well.

Enjoy the twins and your ham!

To my coffee pal, the biggest heart (((hug))) EVER!

Isn't that the truth!!! My daughter's friend who was very, very sick came home from the hospital the day before yesterday. Yesterday she told me she had "dreamed" about Cassi. Jackie said she was glorious, glowing, and that she spoke no words, yet Jackie heard, in her head, Cassi say, "Get some rest." Sigh...It wasn't a dream, it was a visit. I could use one too...

Nine is a lot of Christmas's to miss him. There are times of the year it hits home more that others and these holidays are difficult to navigate. I certainly understand how Mike would be a big encouragement for his dad now. I'm so sorry you and hubby are going through this. The twins may have been just the boost of spirit that you need. Wishing you peace, love and understanding. Plus a visit from Mike.
XOXO, Debbie

Nine for you. Eight for me and we are still moving and missing our angels.
I put up a few decorations but we really did our celebrating in Ottawa last month.
Our neighbours keep an eye on us so we have been busy for the last week. We are staying home tomorrow and eating lobster, and I will be drinking wine.
Wishing you love and peace at Christmas and in 2018 and beyond.
Tight hugs

I know what you mean. It has been 12 Christmas without Jeff. How can that be. Jeff's girls were 7 and 5. Now they are 19 and 17. I guess that is one of the things that hurt the most that they will never know their dad. The man that their Mom married is "daddy" to them.
I could use a visit too. Just so sick and tired of being "sick and tired"....Tight hugs to you, Nell, Jeff's Mom

Golly, we are all on the same page for sure. 11 and 7 years for us. It is so very unreal still. I love the notion of New years resolutions , SO all of you kiddos better start coming to us more. Peace to you from me, xoxox

It IS so hard to believe the number of years that pass by....seemingly so quickly, when our hearts have stood still in the missing of our children.

OH, what joy those sweet girls bring to your life! They are precious! I can imagine when you just don't feel like moving, they are great motivators and help get you going again. I really need to get back in the gym myself....LAWD the weight I've gained lately!! It's embarrassing!

Love Mike's requested New Year's Resolution! I think we should request the same of all our kids!

Tight heart hugs to you sweet friend as you continue to figure it all out and live life in positive, forward motion.

Thanks for all the encouragement it always is a big help. I am cooking everything in the crock pot today so I can play too. The girls were so happy with all the goodies. Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas and joy in your heart.

Peace be with you, Penny. This is Christmas number 10 for me. My granddaughter is my joy now. We always, of course, remember Michael at this time of the year (although we don't forget him the rest of the year!). The littles do bring joy back, don't they?
