Dealing with it all.
Just last week I got diagnosed with PCOS. I have had the symptoms that give drs the clues that you have it. My periods have been non existant and when they do come they are heavy and long lasting. I have more facial hair then most I know. Also I have bad back hair and I also at one point had a bald spot its has since grown back in. These are just some of the symptoms. When I went to see the endocrinologist she told me that my sugars were high. Its was a 6.9 I believe.. So she told me I would need to start checking my sugars. She said to do it i time a day three days a week. Also she was wanting one reading a week before bedtime.I was also given a perscrpition for metaformin. I am taking 500 mg at half a tablet incremnets. Im at the one pill in the morning and one half in the evening part still have a while to go. What I am having a hard time dealing with is the blood sugar and eating healthy for this condition and trying to lose weight so that it doesn't become worse. I find myself hungry all the time. In the beginning I would skip a lot of meals. mainly only eating one meal a day. Now I try and have breakfast lunch and dunner. lately after dinner my appetite goes crazy and I am hungry enough to eat a horse. Just wondering if any of you have this issue and any tipos would be great. I have yet not gone to diabetes education. I understand you speak to a dietician. So maybe that will help but its not til th 26th so .. any help in the meantime would be helpful.

Hey, Dorinda has PCOS and she was actually put on metformin as well but it wasn\'t doing anything for her so she just has to deal with it. she doesn\'t have the high sugar but she does deal with the unbalanced hormorne levels in her body, the facial hair, abnormal periods and also long lasting. She also gets sists on her ovary\'s which is another sign of it. Her doctor\'s said that when you get to the point where you want to start having children you either go on fertility drugs to help you or you can track ovulation on your own and it might end up being while your still having your menstrual cycle. But that\'s about what I know about it. It did make her really hungry as well, you should try and drink lots of water and hopefully that will distract you from the food?
Good Luck and I am sorry you have to go through this.
