Day to Day
I feel like I'm being buried by so much. Addiction, depression, anxiety, sickness. It's like even when my mind is clearer, something is wrong. I can't ever just feel okay. But I'm trying to breathe through each and find my way through. Some moments are better than others.
I had Covid back in September 2021. Working at a grocery store, I think I figured at some point, I'd get it. Easier than others even. I ended up getting it from my oldest brother. The problem at the time was that I never tested positive, only negative twice.
I was sick for a few days, but mostly just fatigued. Sooooo tired and exhausted and sleep was not easy. Anyway, it wasn't until months later that lasting effects from Covid started and I knew for sure that I had had it. For starters, my hair started falling out like chunks at a time. I've never considered myself vain, but that frightened me and my hairline changing was quite frustrating.
Around the same time that started happening, my sense of smell changed. I wasn't able to connect any dots for some time, but at first, all the hot deli food at work smelled horribly. I had always been able to smell the peanut oil the chicken was fried in, but this smell was pungent and disgusting. I was worried at first - I thought I was getting sick again. Then other things started smelling awful or different. A time ago, I googled about it and found its name: parosmia. It has various causes, but Covid is one.
For months, I've just been dealing with it. Trying to stay away from certain foods and smells - trust me, it's easier said than done. I've learned about a smell training that can help your nose. I'm starting that tonight so I'm hoping that it'll help.

stress itself can do this...take a breath, relax, and be gentle with your self.
