Day of Enlightenment
Today was a good day of enlightenment. Started out the day before church, talking to a pastor friend about what is happening between ES and us. She was surprised but told me that it is more common than anyone realizes. She told me that I have to go through this with my emotions and not just my mind. Like any other loss, I need to feel it to be able to got from one stage to another and to really be on my knees with God. I've been trying to rationalize in my head which doesn't work and only causes confusion. This afternoon while DH watched some football, I saw a couple of shows from the OWN station where people were asking questions. Got quite a bit about that and feeling it, but knowing we are in God's hands. It's hard to explain but I think I now better understand how to deal with it. Going to have weekly sessions with female pastor for a while. I'm sure she will be a great. help. I don't know if this makes any sense to any one else but detaching and just thinking through it without putting your whole self into the pain and healing is the way to do it. Of course for different people, different things are right. She knows how I was when I lost my parents and my in-laws so she does know me. Blessings, prayers and hugs. Hope you are having a relatively good Sunday. Each in our own way and in our own time.

I am so glad you are talking with your pastor friend. Detachment is such a wonderful way to look at the present estrangement with our children. Please share any advice she gives you as it might help us also.
Glad you found some light today in your discussions with pastor. I, too, have found that trying to make sense of the circumstances only causes more anguish. It is what it is, as everyone says.
Even though there is a huge void in your life, try to enjoy the blessings God has given you. And wait patiently and prayerfully with great hope. This story is not over yet, and our God is big and strong and loves us.
I\'m so happy that you have your pastor friend. I\'ll be interested to hear her advice.
it\'s hard to detach emotionally from our kids because we love them regardless of what pain we go thru. Sometimes I have peace in my mind, but then not so much. Having someone to talk it thru with really helps and know your pastor will guide you to what you already know: that you\'re a good parent and have an open heart to whatever the future holds. lots of hugs always xo
Thank you all, my precious friends, for your support, comfort and strength. I will share any new ideas or thoughts.
