Day 35 - checking in
Feeling good - no gambling, or urges!! Progressing along. I'm thinking about going to GA to reinforce my efforts in recovery. There were two posts in the discussion section this morning about meetings and how they had gone and found that they were feeling not as bad off as many in the group, so they thought they could go out and gamble again, controling it... only got worse, of course, and they ended up in real bad shape and back in GA 6 months later.
I could relate to that feeling, though, because when I went, it was very similar; very heart wrenching situations that people had gotten into . . I felt like mine was on a much different level and scale dollar wise, and not as serious. This is a mistake we make, I guess. This time if I go, I will stay there. :]
Good day so far - breakfast with husband, working on computer, reading, etc.,

Also, you may think this hard, but new friends that don\'t gamble. Old ones that did gamble with you, need to see less of or not at all. I know, it\'s hard especially if it\'s a relative, but you need to protect yourself. I have made new friends who do not gamble and never did. My dtr is still my downfall, as she still is active in gambling and I have to be very careful where I go with her. I think people who do drugs, return to drugs because of their friends and I think the gambling proves to be the same thing. Going to GA is always a good thing because you will learn a lot. hugs barb
