Day 27 - productive
Had a really good day so far - pedicure, manicure, some errands, relaxing at home, washed my buddy (my dog) and she looks beautiful. I met a friend this morning for the pedicure, etc., and hadn't seen her in a few months. She has known me a long time - I told her that I had quit and she gave me a very knowing, supportive look and said she was glad... she is the type of person that is very straightforward and has always expressed her opinion about my going, especially alone.. she worked for my husband for many years and of course they were always in agreement on that subject.
In the last year when I have snuck away to gamble, many times when I was in the midst of the "excitement", my husband would be phoning on the cell phone. I would not answer immediately of course because then he would realize where I was. This is a true confession :] you all understand how our minds work. So - - -I would go outside and contact him there. Well, today I walked in from my errands and said - I only lost 900 at the casino this morning; he knew I was kidding. And then I said - I forgot my cell phone this morning - left on the counter. He said - I always knew you were at the casino if you didn't answer your cell... I said - are you serious. He said - yes, that was a dead giveaway. Well, for a long time, I thought he didn't realize I had gone, but boy was I wrong. He was allowing me to live with the guilt at those times... I'm so glad I am now out in the open, and knowing he knows everything will help me immensely... on to Day 28...
Take care everyone and hope the weekend is going well!
