Date Nmero Dos...

The second date with Suzy went well as we had a nice Mexican lunch (chimichanga....yum!) and some nice easy conversation.  Too bad she's taking an elderly friend on a Sunday day trip but there'll be other times. 
It's great knowing that she wants to keep seeing me and we both feel the same way in that moving slowly is the right path at this point. She's nervous after not having been very active in the dating pool for the past 20 years as she spent the time raising her son.
i did get a little nervous when she said she was a little uncomfortable with the physical contact on our first date but she said that it's because she isn't used to it and it was nothing I was doing wrong. She said in previous relationships and her marriage, she wanted the hugging, the kissing and the handholding but never got it and now that she's found someone who does that, it felt a little awkward. I thought I'd blown it but she said to the contrary that being with me can likely teach her how to handle affection again but it has to be at a slow pace which is ideal for me.
She said I was a real gentleman and had nothing to be ashamed of so I guess I did ok. I like that!  I gave her a card, red rose and the heart shaped box of candy since we missed valentines day and she liked that. I told her that although it was a week late, it was still our valentines day since we couldn't be together for the actual day. I got some interesting looks as I walked in carrying the stuff but at least nobody else was doing the same!
