Dark Shadows

I'm trapped beneath the surface
The black slimy tentacles of hatred and anger are wrapped around my leg
Hoping to drag me down into the dark shadows
I try to break away but it yanks me down
I'm drowning
My lungs feel like they're about to burst
I feel the warm breath of death creep down my back
I feel the pain slowly rise from my feet
It runs up my back and neck
It slowly devours me
I feel weak
The thought of not existing is swarming in my head
My arms go crazy
Slashing the water to get free
I have never been free
My heart feels like a lump in my throat
My body freezes
The life is slowly slipping away
My last sight is seeing the surface get farther away
I have been eaten by the black monster.
