Cyclothymia
Does anyone know anything about Cyclothymia?
Even how to pronounce it would be helpful. I guess it's a "mild form of bipolar"?
I don't know -_- just that my pdoc is now evaluating me for this. Because of some recent hypomanic episodes.
I'm already BPD this would be an additional diagnosis....I guess they are often "comorbid".
But my mania only last 3 days which Im told is too short for normal diagnostic criteria.
Too complicated and confusing.

I'm sure I'll hear more about it at my next appointment. I think my Dr was concerned about saying too much yet as he felt I was already distressed and was afraid that adding a "label" as he called it would be too much for me to handle at that moment.
And nothing is confirmed as of yet.
It just something he wants to consider, and have me evaluated for. Not sure how that works either?
Sometimes a correct diagnosis takes years. If you don't get the right diagnosis, you don't always get the right med combo and that's no good.
I have bipolar but that took decades to get right and I didn't get a mood stablizer til mid 2000's. At 57, I have a good long list of wrecked or damaged relationships and jobs.
What I can say are the support accurate important.
Sleep is critical. Sleep deprivation or irregularity is really bad. Impossible for the brain to regulate itself.
Routine is ideal as are avoiding jobs that lead to eoisides triggered by stress.
Nutrition: omega three in food or supplement and group. The former the body doesn't produce but helps neuro function the latter is critical for stress and neuro but depleted by certain meds. Any the body doesn't need is psssed out.
Stress management. L-theanine is a supplement and in green tea. Promotes relaxation and I've never heard of it interacting with meds.
Melatonin's, magnesium, valerian and l-theanine for sleep if troubl all work. Stringer if needed.
Try drugs.com to list meds. It lists all interactions but doc is usually aware.
Always tell doc whatever you take from Rx to supplement. Some supplements like ashawaghanda and st. John's wort DO have bad interactions.
Continue research management routines.
