Crushing Stress
The last few days have left me feeling on the verge of an anxiety attack! I can't even begin to wrap my head around the massive load of crud that's been dumped in my lap.
First off, Joey and I saved our butts off to redo some of our floors. We saved $1500, it was enough to get higher quality laminate for the hallway, living room and dining room. To get the floor thingys to deal with only carpet in the bedrooms merging with the laminate. To get new doors for all our upstairs doors.
We buy the laminate and it was $850. First, Joey bought the wrong kind because he apparently misunderstood me. That stuff is HEAVY. 25 boxes at 40lbs each, Im not returning it lol so I'll grow to love it. I like it well enough. Then the paint he bought isn't the correct colour either! But he bought it out of our city so returning it isn't a possibility. I'm not sure if I will like it or not but I hate what's on the walls now so if I don't like it I just go from hate to hate...no real loss there.
So before we can buy all the necessary bits to lay laminate and paint the SUV dies. At a freaking car sale thing too. One where a dealership from out of town rented a lot and brought down surplus vehicles to sell. So the salesmen try to boost us. Once we are boosted we no long her power steering. WTF.
Soooo....we replace a fuse,.$10. Nothing. We replace the battery, $100. Nothing. We take it to a family friends shop and have him run a diagnostic, $75, says it's some code popping up that only a dealership can fix. Dealership says sounds like a code reset should cost about fifty bucks....does it...NO. When the salesmen boosted us they somehow fried our steering module or some crap, $600 part, $200 labour! Almost $1000 later and our SUV is fixed. Doing the math? We only had $650 left. So Joeys dad paid the whole bill at the dealership so we owe him all that, plus we had to spend $200 of our savings on something Joey had already done so it was a bill that had to be paid (originally planned).
Now we have about $100 to get probably $400 worth of things.
Plus I'm struggling with my friend not paying her bill again. She wants to open her own dayhome, but her house is filthy. I love her, but it's gross. But if it gets up off the ground she is aiming for May.1 and that means I can get a PAYING kid in. The fact that we had so much money leave means I'm really going to feel the $480 she owes for Februaury and March when she doesnt pay it on time.
I need a weekend job I think. Even a one day a weekend job so I get one week off. I'm really stressed out right now.
