Crisis management
You can suddenly feel like so much of yourself is wanting or lacking
and that drive to measure up starts in full force so that you tear yourself down or beat yourself up...
but what do you do then?
you still have to be self responsible...
so maybe take a beat, slow down a little bit and see if there's any little thing you can see in yourself that is good.
this is helping me. Going to sleep now.
taking a plane back to LA in the morning:-)

I’m feeling really good. I have been trying to sleep but I have thought about with all the energy to burn, it’s real important that I exercise my being as part of self care. Get my body to the gym.. I’ll try and hit the sack now but what I have also thought about while laying here is that I’ve been trying to give myself some structure to help myself get to sleep and then also my mind went again to the idea of joining the monastery. Lots of warmth, hugs and kisses and acceptance happen here but on the flip side I’m not sure if the austerity of this life, though structured would be good for my mental health and my battle for a sense of value. There’s all kinds of measuring up here and then measuring up out there inLA too. I’ll talk to the doc about that. Good night.
“Battle for a sense of value” is something to ponder. A pie-chart project sounds fun. I’m sure you could break up your “sense of value” in pie chart segments that make a whole. Easy peasy.
Safe travels, mon ami.
you remind me often of how far i've come in managing my comparison compulsion. comparison is far too handy a skill to eliminate altogether and a talent worth nurturing, buttttttaaaaaa. . . this morning i find myself wondering what is responsible about keeping up with the joneses? my decades of psychotherapy have convinced me that continually comparing myself to unknowable factors (other people's inner workings) is closer to foolish than responsible.
equally, i wonder if self-tolerance and acceptance have become the responsibility to replace keeping up with the joneses.
i also wonder if "keeping up with the jonses" is still groovy. do people still know what that means?
sigh. . . always something, eh?
safe travels. hope blue is so happy to see you that he knocks you off your feet when you open the door.
Thanks guys!!
Safe travels amigo :)
Thanks! I’m in the Charlotte airport!
