Crazy World
Got up this morning to exercise. Everything going well, then I got lightheaded and could barely make it up the stairs. I have one of those alert systems attached to the ground-floor landing of my townhouse. Put it there when I realized that a fall could leave me lying there for days until my dad or stepdaughter realize they haven't heard from me. I'd planned to get rid of it to save money. But now, here I was dragging myself up the stairs, grateful that once there a push of the button would get help. Anyhow, I made it, my hands so weak I could hardly turn the thing around to press it. I sat there holding it in my hand, wondering if I was having another mini-stroke, wishing that I had the aspirin in the basement, or on the ground floor. But no, they're sitting in the second floor bathroom and there was no way I could make it up those stairs. So I just sat there and prayed for the best. And pretty soon I was back to normal. It wasn't a mini-stroke, just me about to faint. I've had both and know the difference.
Here's the crazy part. I have a medical alert system, but my 85 year old father refuses to have one.
Back to the rest of the day. I went to the hair salon and my beautician worked on my hair while talking on the telephone. Incredible! Later the man actually had lunch as I sat under the drier.
Now for the crazy part. Normally I'd dump him, but he's an artiste when it comes to hair and his prices are lower than anywhere else, so I'm keeping him.
As to the fainting spell, I discovered my blood pressure is only 105/75.

Wow what an ordeal! Going through that and then having a seemingly normal day after that, I am impressed as I would have been scared to go anywhere, I think. I understand about the hairstylist. Having the stylist on the phone while working on my hair drives me nuts. Mine does not do that, but I have had ones that do and I am with you, but I understand your reasons for staying, too! Did you get your bp back up?
Glad it wasn\'t a stroke! I\'m glad the rest of the day was \"normal\". Sometimes my stylist talks on the phone, but briefly ~~ usually another client needing an appointment, or one of her kids. LOL Doesn\'t bother me, as long as she doesn\'t STAY on the phone. As for eating lunch, mine has to do that sometimes when she hasn\'t had time between clients. We\'re \"laid back\" here. :-)
Hope you are okay now and do not have any more fainting spells.
Hugs, Joely
Your heart must have been raising. At least your recognized what it was .... fainting. Did you not eat or something? Was it your heart so low?
Wow! You know the difference between a mini-stroke and a fainting spell, You have gone thru so much. From Diane B.
glad you have the panic button, I keep thinking that I need one of them, but haven\'t gotten one. Take care and be careful...Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers....hugs, Sandi
