Counting down the hours... :]
Hi everyone,
Well, I'm counting down the hours until midnight tonight; I will be GF for two months. :] Things have been going well and not really having any desire to go gambling, thank goodness. I have been so busy with other things and along the way several sort of magical things have begun to happen - - I mean all positive and timely; it seems opportunities are just there when I'm not even looking for them. Or unexpected happy moments. The other day one of our employees walked in to the lunchroom with some beautiful designer purses for about a third the cost of retail.. anyway, I fell in love with one of them and purchased it - it's just beautiful and something that a) I wouldn't have been able to purchase for myself at retail . . . b) if I was gambling there would be "0" money to purchase it even at the great price. and c) It was so hard to do ANYTHING nice for myself at that point because my self-esteem was very low and I guess subconsiously I didn't feel I deserved nice things . . . yet I would put hundreds of $$ into those crazy machines but not spend it on myself. Anyone else experience this? Also had a pleasant surprise when my boss called us into a meeting for a few announcements - - - part of it was she read a letter about me to the staff from a lady that I had worked with to get her a job with us. She raved about me providing such outstanding service, etc. it was funny that I actually felt embarrassed even though I do know that I have a passion for providing really good service.... anyway, that was a nice surprise to be recognized for hard work.
Hope all is well with everyone - oh - another thing I'm thankful for - we had our tax appointment and don't owe - - -yay; that darn IRS . . we pay them way too much already.
Hugs to all,
Smokeygirl

Yes Pat I have been following your journey and am so happy for you. I am struggling right now for the first time since I quit 4 mos ago. My dtr wants me to go to bingo with her and I want to go because I really want to be with her but half of me says, best not. I know how we can now afford things to buy that we could never have bought before and opportunities do present themselves but we didn\'t see them before, clouded by the desire to gamble I guess. Really great they appreciate you at work and that has to feel good. hugs barb
Good stuff smokey girl. Count down to midnight and 2 months GF! Yep, can completely relate to getting presents for yourself whilst gambling. It\'s so crazy how we can spend so much gambling but won\'t spend any money on ourselves. I guess when you gamble you loose sense of the value of money.
It\'s past us now so no looking back just forward.
I\'m not far off 2 months so I\'ll be doing the same very soon!
WhooHoo on your 2 months GF. I know it took a lot of hard work, strength and courage to get there. Very Proud of you.... Sorry I\'m not right with you anymore, but I\'ve started over, just a few months behind you!
I know what you mean about never buying yourself anything when your gambling. I would use my CC (until I maxed them out)on non essentials. But any cash had to go to the casino. And I LOVED it the last few months, absolutely loved it. I am ready to be back the way it was, GF. Just got paid today and I\'m looking forward to spending the money on me and my family!!
Congrats again my friend --- Big Time!
