Couldn't have done this without these groups
Yesterday I met a girl who I have so much in common with on this website. It was reassuring not to feel alone. I had to spend all day yesterday by myself because my boyfriend had to work a double shift. Normally it would drive me crazy to have to be alone all that time, but I spent a lot of time on DS reading the stories of other people with the same problems as me. I cooked dinner for my boyfriend and wrote love quotes on little pieces of paper and hid them around the apartment for him to find. When he got home he was extremely tired but he stayed up just to talk to me about my day and was so happy that I had found someone that I could relate to in so many different ways. He found all my little notes and it really made his night. He opened up and told me that he never thought he'd feel this way again after his divorce, and that he'd never thought he'd give a girl a promise ring after he had been hurt so badly. He kept telling me how special I was to him, he's understanding that I need to hear that from time to time to keep me going. I was still feeling so much love that I woke up really early to make him breakfast and get all of his work things together for him because he had to work another double today. It felt good to feel so much love for someone that I wanted to get up and do something for him...and i'm not a morning person! The more I feel as if I have not only the support of these groups but his as well, the more I feel I can get through my day. And my trust for him is growing because he's being more affectionate. He doesn't feel as if I'm pushing him away as much. I feel so great today that I might go for a walk in this freezing cold!
