Coping Well
Still haven't heard from Dad and was getting worried. I resisted the urge to call him, knowing that he wouldn't welcome a call from me. A hard truth to swallow, but I'm all about being realistic, always have. So, I came up with a way to find out if he's okay. I still have access to viewing his bank account activity, so that's what I do.
I see he's wrote a check, or got money out and I know he's doing okay. Next, I'll call a cousin and have them call him.
This is for the best for both of us. No point in him spending his last days being bothered by a daughter he hates. No point in me spending my last days helping a father who doesn't want help. Time for me to put the big girl pants on and move on.
Still, it's hard, knowing I'll never see him again in life. He was a part of my life for 57 years. Now, no more.
Remind myself never to talk about a woman going through a divorce of a husband she very much loves and calling herself a widow. Used to get angry about that, but no more. When someone leaves your life, but still lives, it is sort of like a death. I've mourned my father more than I can say. Good or bad, kind or evil--I still love him.
But as a famous writer once said, "You can't go home again."

Not sure what to say, just know that I am here and I\'m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. LOL, I loved hubby number 1, (guess I still do in a way; just glad he\'s not my headache anymore) I cried all the while I talked with the attorney about ending my marriage, felt terrible, totally un-loveable, etc, I had a friend who\'s husband had dropped dead in his soup and she wasn\'t doing well........I went over and seen her and she talked and I listened, I finally told her there was a big difference in my husband leaving because he wanted to and her husband dying....mine chose to leave and hers had no choice in the matter. I guess that made sense to her as she got out and about, started to do things again. I guess in a way the end of a marriage is like a death, I used to think it might be easier if he did die, at least I\'d never have to see him, especially with my ex-best friend....yup, life is what it is......take care, hugs, Sandi
I support you. You are doing the right thing.
You have been very resourceful. You know he\'s okay. This is a good way to handle things.
