Contentment at last
This is our mantra for today and the next few hectic days. I am now in a place where I am back in control and feel that I have everything almost done. I have a sense of peace and contentment. I think a lot of that has had to do with all my visits with my friends. The power of friendship is amazing. It is the world’s best medicine along with laughter. I have very little depression left, I feel it at the fringes but it’s undercontrol. I have had loads of company or have been visiting. I’m off to a friend’s again today to help her groom her beautiful golden setter. I have a profession grroming kit so between the two of us we should be able to detangle and clip Zelda. Should be a riot!!!Bad news yesterday, not surprising news but not great timing. We had the guy here to clean the furnace.. Long story short... he discovered holes that can let out carbon monoxide!!! Yikees!!! Freak me out. He patched it for now but recommended we get a CO detector, didn’t need to be told!! We are getting a new furnace but due to Xmas it will probably be a week or so. Still waiting for the quote as well. We will do it on the monthly payment plan. The furnace is about 25 years old so it’s time. Plus a new one will be more fuel efficient. That’s good with the price of oil!! Oh, well, life happen’s, gotta roll with it.We had about 6 to 8 inches of snow on Wed. It has been cold, right now it is 3* but feels like -13* with the wind. BRRRR... the long range shows another 6 to 10 inches for Sunday and then 2 to 4 on Monday. Christmas eve and Day show only a chance of flurries. Hope it stays that way as we travel two hours one way to Michael’s sister’s place for Xmas dinner. But if it snows I won’t go. I am not risking my life for turkey!!!LOLYesterday I got my carrot cake made for the boxing Day Feast at our place. I just froze it. I will do the cream cheese icing on Christmas Eve day. We have the first loaf of maple bread on now. We need to have 4 loaves for the feast. It is so.... yummy.Anyway, folks, I’ll leave you with a quote on happiness. " The world is full of people looking for spectacular happiness while they snub contentment. " Doug Larson
