Consequences
I took myself out for a glass of red wine at the pub today. I had a snack and a Diet Coke as well.
I'm trying to mind my intake but I was really'up for' some cookies and so I thought that I'd stop at the 7-11 on the way home. I knew though I had to resist. Usually my mind goes to 'why shouldn't I indulge?' But today I thought about the consequences for myself. So I found the logic and the will to say no to the bit of dessert. The notion of consequence with life choices came front and center as a personal motivator when asking myself a big 'why not?!' in the face of indulgence
or even plans of action or inaction.

I’m glad to hear you treated yourself today. You deserve it! When I’m faced with the urge to indulge in sweets, I ask myself, “Is it worth the calories?” There were always doughnuts in the break room at work. If they were from a grocery store, I’d stay away. If they were from our local bakery, look out!
Haha
Thanks Susan!!
i like to keep my eye on the prize. i'll feel so much better without the indulgence and there are healthier substituskies.
