Conquered the craving

1613 - The craving has past. How did this come about? Time went by and I didnt drink I suppose was the upshot, though a couple of other things helped.

1. I rang my Mum. Initially I said I was going for a walk. Then we talked and talked about me going back to Liverpool, which was purely a ploy to be able to drink. Then we talked about something else. And after about 45-50 minutes of talking I had a slightly different perspective.

2. I went downstairs. I bought a Twirl bar. And a big bar of chocolate. I ate the Twirl bar. I immediately felt the craving go, and it has now just about gone.

Was I just sugar deprived? Possibly, Ive been cutting right down on sugar. Was I lonely? Yes, to an extent. Although the conversation with Mum was kind of up and down, just talking to someone for 50 minutes helped, even though I resisted and was restless for a bit. I know deep down she cares, and knows the black spots I can get into. I need to be GRATEFUL to have such a caring Mum.

This will happen again. When it does. Im going to pick up the phone, and eat a chocolate bar, and see what happens. Hell, a 230 calorie, 50p chocolate bar is a lot less expensive than picking up a drink.
