COMPANY\'S GONE
Friday, Aug. 8, 2008: My friend from the KC area has come and gone. We had a really nice visit. The 1st day we met with another lady, we both used to work with, for lunch at Olive Garden. Then we went to Nixa and drove around, by her old house, etc. The evening was spent in the pool. Lousy hostess that I am, she had to fix her own sandwich for supper. Of course, we all did, and ate when we were hungry. The 2nd day was spent just hanging out, after going out for breakfast, and then going to a matinee' movie. We saw Mama Mia & shared a HUGE tub of buttered movie popcorn! I have only been to one movie since Scott died, I think. It was very entertaining. Salad was for supper. We had been eating too much other stuff and needed vegies! Of course, it was a good salad with all the trimmings. Chris came for dinner, too. Today we met some of my old co-workers, from Bass Pro, for lunch at Panera Bread. I used to work in the Design and Development Dept. at the Corp. office. It was nice to see everyone except the "Evil" woman who caused me (& many others) at lot of trouble. I didn't even acknowledge her, nor her, me. She is TOXIC! I was glad for my friend, Marylynn, to meet them so she will know now who I am referring to. We came back home and Marylynn left about 2 p.m. I took a nap! We stayed up until 4 a.m. every "night". I was exhausted. And, we drank a lot. At least I did. She did too, for her, which is just a couple. Tonight we just had a simple casserole for supper and I went to the store for snacks for tomorrow. We are going on the house boat, for sure. We didn't go last weekend 'cause Mark had to work. I also went to the cemetery for a bit. They had mowed there so there was a lot of grass to clean up that had blown on Scott's and his Grandma's headstones. As usual, I cried. During Marylynn's visit I apologized for not having Maria and her son come, too. And, I made the suggestion I meet them at the "float place." She understood and had actually gotten caught in the middle. She had mentioned the float trip to Maria and Maria wanted her to call me from her house. Maria apparently doesn't think I am as far along as I should be in my grief. Well.....Maria has never lost ANYONE close and especially not her child. Ahh...the judgements we make on people....I truly hope she never has to understand this loss. For me, I am as far on this journey as I am. I make no apologies, no excuses, no nothing. It is what and how it is. I do what I can do and somedays that is only remembering to breathe.
