commonalities or universalities?
am I looking for universalities in my life to help me feel
supported while moving forward individually in life?
I think my natural drive to form consensus - to be sensitive to
others - and to maybe hope that everybody can be happy
in my personal hope?...I think that's an issue for me.
not everyone can get along. And so I think
that someone would respond well to me is a blessing
and to someone who might not, I need to deal with that too.
Peace and good vibes.
Namaste..

whatever our nature, the ability to use our natural gifts well is more skill than gift. used well, your natural gift for seeking that common ground is a gift. used badly, it can be somewhere between delusional and destructive.
a critical difference between a master and a beginner is the master knows when NOT to.
thanks arfie! that's true and interesting!
I agree with @arfie that your desire to seek common ground is a gift. Your sensitivity and natural tendency to encourage consensus are wonderful attributes, and much needed in society. It's definitely not wrong to hope everyone can be happy and get along, and even to promote that ideal. (If it is, then I'm guilty too!) You're wise in realizing that no matter your hopes and efforts, some people are not as open and accustomed to consensus-building, peace, and harmony, as you are. Your awareness of that will allow you to step back from situations when you encounter people who are not of the same mind. Peace to you, too!
thanks so much Ladybug. SO beautifully written and appreciated!
I think a lot of the troubles in the society we are all sharing is the lack of patience to understand one another. That and enormous misunderstanding of what motivates people in life. Not everyone seeks the same things, and therefore the things that make one person happy could be on an opposite spectrum of what another may find to be true contentment.
It is very honorable to want happiness for all. Maybe it’s about learning to be respectful of individual hopes somewhere in the mix of that, too. Just my thoughts for today.
thanks nikki!!
