Comes to me

I was watching the evening news and finding myself jealous of the people who were being interviewed over many segments. They were all positive and happily talking about their pursuits. I realized lately that I've been coming to a place of accepting my flaws and still moving forward and turning a positive outlook although I struggle. I just realized that it's no wonder that I might not feel secure or confident to go with my dreams like these people as I have this unstable sense of being.

So maybe that's a kind of normality and firmament. I can definitely appreciate and admire the people I see in the news. Maybe I can learn to live with my insecurity and flaws and still move forward. It doesn't make them go away but perhaps allows me to work even though.

We can’t all be on the news, but that doesn’t mean your story and journey isn’t remarkable and newsworthy. Because it is!

I disagree, Markus Questionarius. If I waited until I was confident and secure to go for my dreams, I would still be housekeeping in one of the hidey holes I dug when I was a throwaway kid. I am willing to bet dollars to wishes similar is true for every one of those folks enjoying their 15 minutes of fame.

Take a risk, Markus. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is action in the face of fear. I hold that the absence of fear is psychosis. There are things in life that **should** frighten us. Don't fear danger. Master it.

Be brave. Bet on your dreams.

For what it's worth
I hated my 15 minutes of fame. People make the most absurd assumptions of people they see on TV, even when the blurb is lighthearted. Mine was for training my dogs to pull carts and ? ? ? People make the most absurd assumptions. . .

When I see people on the news or out in public who seem to have it all, I realize that everyone has problems, not just me, even if they seem perfect. Yes, we do have challenges with our mental illness, but at least we have each other here on DS to support and that is a good thing for me. It will be okay.

Ah, the news edits what is shared. In other words, you do not see the full story. You only see the part that makes it looks 'newsworthy'.

That 'fame' is not all fun, games, and smiles. It often leaves privacy forgotten.

Your dreams are what give you hope, and go for it!

You're not alone!
