Colleen passed away.
Colleen passed away at 6:30 pm last night. We were with her, my 2 older children and I. She was still on the ventilator, but nothing helped her any longer. Not even the adrenaline they gave her. Her blood pressure kept dropping, and her heart slowed down until it stopped. A few hours before she died, I hugged and kissed her repeatedly, and told her that I love her, and that it is o.k for her to go with Jesus. Although she was still under sedation and on the ventilator, I truly believe that she heard and understood me. She knew that we were there with her. It feels so unreal! I will never ever stop loving her!

I\'m so sorry for you and your family. I am grateful for Colleen that she had your love and the love of the rest of your family... Lee Ann as a friend and care taker too... I worry that after the intense time you will pass through now that Colleen has just crossed and are left with the emptiness after so many years of intensive care taking you will feel lost... All I can say is I will do what I can to be a friend. Sending you hugs and praying that you\'ll feel all of us wishing comfort and ease for you as you deal with Colleen\'s earthly death. Hugs Elissa

My very deepest condolences and sorrow for your loss. I broke down and cried over your loss, knowing all you have been through over the past many years. I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I have no words that could lighten the pain and grief.
You mention in your notice that you believed, even on a ventilator that Colleen heard you and understood. Please allow me to share a short story with you, one I have not even shared with the other moms here. My son Jason was put in a medically induced coma and intubated. My daughter Chase was determined to stay with him that night after she got off work. Around 2:30 in the morning after she had been with him for about 3 hours she commented to the nurse that had come in to check his vitals, that she thought she would head home. JASON SHOOK HIS HEAD. Chase asked the nurse if he should be able to do that and the nurse responded \"NO!\" Jason not only heard his sister but was able to communicate that he needed her to stay. Even the nurse saw his reaction.
Needless to say, Chase sat down again and stayed for awhile.
Colleen not only heard you and understood you but knew she was not alone.
Gentle hugs in these most horrible days

I am SO sorry to learn of you Colleen\'s passing. Such a heartache that is deeply felt forever in your loving mother\'s heart.
I have no doubt that Colleen heard and knew all of you were with her. She will carry that within her being as do each of you.
Please be so very gentle with yourself and the women on For Moms Only have been my lifeline as I too lost a child, my son named Douglas, in July of 2008. This IS the greatest loss of a lifetime...
Lots of deep inhales, exhales, sighing and knowing that you are surrounding in loving care. Just this moment and day is all any of us can do. BE within the sorrow and grief and feel it all as that is the only way I have found to heal. I must feel...
You are not alone and have sisters of the heart who will listen and BE with you. No answers, no quick fixes, no telling you how you should or should not feel. None of that will you experience here. Just hearts with ears...
My heart is with you at this tender, tender time and again, I\'m so very sorry.
Gentle (((hugs)))
