Cogentin and Side Effects
Cogentin, a med I was put on to counteract the side effects from the Risperdal, seems to work fairly well so far. Before my stomach always felt upset and I would feel hungry while full and full while hungry as if I had eaten a full meal 6 hours after the last time I had eaten. It was weird. But that seems to all have stopped, thank goodness. Even the excessive saliva production side effect seems to have gone away. What hasn't however - is the insomnia.
Also, one of Cogentin's more common side effects? Constipation. Yep. Great so I trade one side effect for another? ugh! Hopefully though that will go away as my body gets used to the med.
Still, the side effect that is bothering me the most now is the damned insomnia. I haven't had insomnia that wasn't for more than a single night in around a year and a half ago. Yet here I am, having solid insomnia for the last week, laying in bed for what feels like an hour. It feels like I've gone back in time back to when I would toss and turn every single night without fail.
Also, I don't know if this is related to anything, but I've been getting a lot of random muscle aches. Like getting a bad knot in my neck yesterday, and today it feeling like I have a rock under my foot when there is nothing. I've been trying to deal with these, but either they won't go away (foot ache) or they just switch to somewhere else (neck) Its very irritating!
