Christmas was okay.

I love Christmas. There, I said it out loud. I just do. Despite being full of bittersweet memories of happier years past with my family intact - despite the guilt I feel for David's death, the emptiness, extra place at the table and stocking I no longer fill, for me it is still a time of peace and thankfulness. I don't know why. David loved Christmas and so do I, still.
We have no family in the US so it's just our little nucleus - minus one, now. Perhaps that makes it easier. No-one to pretend to or entertain. I am nearly six feet tall but found Eddie Bauer pj bottoms that actually fit me and haven't taken them off for the past three days! I have eaten great food, played fun games with my family and am reading a good book.
Christmas was okay. And so am I, for this day.
Wising everyone a peaceful, gentle week and New Year.

I am so glad you had an \"okay\" Christmas and feel okay today. It is indeed bittersweet but as you said, Christmas is a time for peace and thankfulness. I know our children would want us to enjoy it.
I am happy to hear you found pj bottoms to fit!! Lisa was tall and my granddaughter is 5\'11\" so can I relate to the problem finding pants long enough. I am 5\'2\" so have the opposite problem - everything is too long!!
I do hope 2012 treats you well.

I am happy to know that you are doing well. It is so healthy for us to keep living. I sometimes wonder how or why I so well. It\'s not that I am not sad or missing my son because I am sad and I do miss my son...terribly but I live each day in an up and positive manner because that is what I must and should do. You had food for the belly, games for fun and laughter, a book to lose yourself into and most important those comfy PJ\'s. May each day bring you such joys.

Nothing like feeling and being okay... sounds as if you are and I\'m delighted that you\'ve had some much needed jammie days. My favorite kind of days too. :)

Thank goodness for memories and for the creating of new ones in the midst.

Continued care your way my friend and here\'s to more okay days and PJ ones too! :)

I am glad that you love Christmas! What\'s not to like, right? The birth of our Saviour, the beautiful feelings expressed of love and joy...Even despite what can be going on within us and around us, Christmas\' important message and meaning takes precedence, in my book!
Next year, I\'m looking forward to a more fun Christmas...this year was a bit derailed but sometimes that happens...
Glad you found comfy pi\'s. I\'ve rediscovered FLEECE and love love love how soft, cuddly and WARM it is! Enjoy! Love+Hugs, Donna

Good for you Joanna! I am so glad you had a peaceful Christmas. It sounds like you had the \'best\' kind - IN YOUR PJ\'s! That\'s my fav kind too; but with 6 brothers and sisters and their families, that\'s a tall order in MY neck of the woods!

hugs,
Fran
