Christians Divorce and Remarriage - your thoughts.

I am going to throw this out to you as I don't know who to ask.  I got some feedback from Sandy at the church I go to.  She printed me out what the church believes.
 
Christians Divorcing and remarriage:  Is it okay for a christian to marry someone else when they get divorced from their 1st spouse.  I left my husband.  He went for the divorce.  I met Smokey and we got married.  Now I am a widow.  I am battling this within my soul as I want to do it right.  Does God want me to be alone or is it okay for me to marry a man of faith.  I don't want to meet a man of faith and cause him to sin if its not okay.  I want to obey God and His Word.
 
Any Christians out there have thoughts on this subject.  The bible is pretty clear in the New Testament but read Paul's words in I Corinthians Chapter 7 and then I get confused.
