Christmas
I am watching tv how can i feel joy when losing a child, i try but it is not the same will never be the same and i just pretend for every one else ,O how i loved christmas, how things change now with losing my friend my thoughts are with her family, and how sad there's will be. Life is so scary never knowing what that next phone call will bring ,I will put on my happy face for others as I have for 6 years, I do wish well for other,s I would not wish this unhappiness on no one, It is weird to me how when some one pass's away life goes on as they never lived ,are we so unimportant like stepping on a ant.I ask God to help me with this I want to have faith, I will pray more ,God please hear my prayers.

The holidays are the most difficult times for us that are coping with loss.
Gentle ((hugs)) shared with you.

i do understand what you mean about life going on the same when we loose someone it just doesnt seem possible does it. Christmas is not a good time for me either am always glad when its over, it sounds humbug but i find it hard when everyone seems so happy. I know Denise will be by your side shirley she knows your suffering but im sure shes at peace all we can do is carry on and at least we have each other, theresmany with nobody. Sending you my hand and heart god bless, susan
I found that last year (my 3rd) after losing Jenn was better, i decorated more and started to get into the spirit of Christmas... I am finding it bettr each year... will i feel as i did before.. I don\'t know but i am not shutting myself to joy found whereever it is... different? definitely but joy can and will still be found in ways

I am in my fourth year and I find more joy each year but the holidays are tough. Thinking of you my friend.
This is my first christmas and the closer it gets the more I find myself trying not to fall a part. It is going to be a rough one. Big hugs to you. Teresa
My Dear Sis, I feel your pain in my heart. Its been 13 yrs for me. It has gotten better thru the years. Something only the love of God, those dear to us that are here and time can do. I dont recall which yr after it was but i started with a dollar store ornament for my door and each yr put up a new Christmas decoration especially for the other kids and grandkids. I will be here for you and we can also talk my dear. remember we all love you your lil sis...hugs lelsie
Christmas is always such a hard time of the year, it is not easy at all. My dad passed away just after Christmas, and each year when it comes to that time, it becomes sad. I am so sorry to hear about your friend, hugs xx
Our family is developing new traditions. This year we will all meet in Santa Fe, NM for a few days, including Christmas. We used to have extravagant Christmases with tons of decorations, presents, stockings, lights etc. etc. The past two years have been very subdued, but I do agree with those who say it gets easier each year.
We\'re trying the family trip this year in part because it was something we had been considering even before losing Corrie in 2009.
It\'s hard but we are here for you ~ vent, scream, cry any time!
With love and big tight hugs ~ Debbie
We are here for one another and that helps. Each year my family tries to remain open to how we are feeling and what will be gentle on our hearts. I hope that you are able to do the same.
I understand my friend and send extra warm hugs in your direction.
I wrote a journal where I compiled some of my chaplain materials about how to cope during the holidays. Perhaps something in it might resonate for you? I hope so.
