choosing activities that are good for your mental health

I got 'onto' my chores that I wrote about in my last journal.

I then sat down on the couch - turned on the news - and then

sat there, feet up, with my cat snoozing in my lap.

At another time in my life I might have continued sitting there, shifting

restlessly when I lost interest..

but in honesty it (watching tv) was not good for me...so I realized.

I watched enough of it to be satiated with a delivered sense of the world 'out there'

and then my mind started pulling me to go to the kitchen and have a snack.

I wasn't and am not really hungry - just bored.

In the last post I wrote about the 'ebb and flow' of how some moments

will be good - and others will be a drag or slog, so I was kind of juggling that

dynamic as I sat there - and I realized the tv in fact was becoming a slog -

and that the food I was about to eat would only add to my mental downturn.

Gotta choose activities that are good for my mental health - and what I wrote

about in the last journal - kind of where I had a vision for the good and the bad states

of mind - really has/had me prepared to manage with cognition, this conscious choice.

Anyways. Things are good. I go back to work tomorrow - and I'll prepare my things

accordingly. Life goes on..peace!
