choosing a mission statement for your life

I wrote the following to a friend that: my mental health challenges cause my perspective to change
a great deal - in a very capricious way and random way - Perhaps my reaction to that is
to be very serious about my choices to the point of indecision - because my perspective is so fleeting.
Does that make sense? I end up vacillating between whether to do
or not to do - and then it's like I freeze up and do nothing. My therapist
said to me perhaps it would be a good idea to develop a mission statement
for my life...Maybe with that kind of thing/resolution I could apply it to what
I end up choosing to do - which would make the decision making process
easier.

I'll hold fast to the mission statement - somehow it is guiding me to know

and understand my humanity - like I wrote about in the last journal -

as it's definitely shown me some commonality too.

Gmornin Mark. Mental health challenges, bigger life circumstances and juggling the two things are indeed a commonality…. I’ve spent years just focused on stabilizing. But even with stabilizing, negative thoughts sabotage further progress in my case. Disappointment in oneself, etc … the whole mess of quicksand pulls me under. I have theories of why I’m conditioned this way, but it’s daily strategy to navigate….for sure.

A mission statement for your life is a good focus. I have a writing assignment prompt for my class this week I’ve been reflecting on that is similar. “The thing I’ve really come to say is….” And I’ve written many sentences and still writing many sentences that share similar themes and similar perspectives. But making it one concrete and solid statement is proving to be a challenge for me, for many reasons.

I hope that you find your focus and ability to live your mission statement with ease. Have a happy Sunday!!!!

Yea, I think myself to paralysis on a routine basis. Anything worth thinking is worth over-thinking.

Is it progress that I have stopped acting surprised and/or beating myself up for ^it^?

Breathing. . .
