choosing

I am not going to buy into the 'down' feelings I have this morning.

I want someone to be there for me to tell me I am special and to reassure me

that all's ok. I kind of realized I have to do that for myself. Not buy into the negative feelings

that I can get - and not to ride that road so to speak. Lift my head up and look out into the world.

I have made some mistakes, it gnaws at me - but I can accept it and move on.

There's something in my life that tells me I have to be perfect and when I sit there, or lay there

and those battering feelings of the differences between me, and what seems the rest of the world

fly in my face, maybe then too I have to reassure myself.

I do have the ability to choose. Maybe mourn a bit for the stuff I seem to know about myself -

but I need to get back to my routine.

This ideal of perfection blights me too Mark. For me, its old wounds, and when they do begin to open up, well, it can be very difficult.

I too just want someone on my side, to tell me everything is OK. And you are right, we have to give those things to ourselves. But we never know what is round the corner

Self care, acceptance, and compassion for ourself can be shaky ground. But the shift in your attitude, your perception, and your insight is golden. You are on your journey Mark. Although we have only been friends a short time, I was aware of you from the board. And often time I thought you were terrific and I knew you would be a good friend. Your striving to be a happier person is admirable. You have what it takes, try and remember that too. xx

Your truth is sincere in talking about genuine feelings, good or bad ~ including the "whatevers." I too have known you a short while, but you keep moving forward...and if you step back any time for any reason, you post/journal/reply about that too.
You are amazing! I look to you for some glimpse into what and why and how you're trying to deal with things! Keep being an inspiration, please. Hope your Sunday and MLK holiday is good!
Thanks!:)

When it comes right down to it, we do have to reassure and build ourselves up and not depend on others to do it for us, just as you said. It helps when others say we are doing a good job, but that only lasts for a brief time. We have to believe it in our hearts. You are definitely on the right path, Mark.
