Cherry Blossoms
The Cherry Blossoms are at peak bloom, one of the earliest ever recorded. I hope any winds that come don't blow them off too soon. The day I went the weather was gorgeous. Now it's gotten cold. I am so glad we went down to the Tidal Basin after our Capitol Tour. One photo is of a lone tree where the blossoms are on one side of the tree. This tree is called Stumpy, many people have a affection for this tree. Unfortunately after the season is done some of the trees will be cut down, Stumpy being one of them, in order for the park service is doing a renewal project to build up the sea wall to prevent flooding. If you look at stumpy you can see the flooding. There is also benches that are in the water, too.

It looks like it was a beautiful day to go sightseeing and I’m glad you got to see some cherry blossoms in bloom. It’s a shame that they plan on cutting down stumpy, but may be a bigger better tree will grow in its place, it’s the circle of life. Hugs
