cheer me up buttercup........

Awareness is such a subtle, but lovely friend.  Lying there thinking this morning.......it's cooler, we're transforming with Mother Earth to autumn.  A glorious time........the harvest, rich gold, deep scarlet reds, softer shades of brown serve to enhance the glory of the more vibrant hues......captivating beauty is coming soon to eyes nearest you.
As I lay there I felt a gentle shudder, then heard the rumbling.  I listened even more intently........what is that sound?  I strained to hear.......too far away to be on the street outside........heard the high mournful cry of the train whistle off in the distance.  It didn't sadden me, not at all............hello old friend hello.
I love that sound, the clickety clack of the cars on the old tracks.........love that whistle blowing as it comes through a small town junction.........announcing it's arrival, it's importance.........to wait and watch.  The sound of the air rushing, a quick break and another rush of wind......as each train car passes by.  It is a much quieter part of our awareness today perhaps amidst all the high tech communication, high speed forms of transport.......no it is not the Concorde, but it comforts me............because this corner I've turned means that I am alert enough to hear........which means that the pain levels are coming down.  Slowly, gently, steadily retreating.............it's not a wellness pass.  And it is nothing any self respecting chronically ill kid would ever refuse either.
if you have a few minutes come with me to hear a train............no you don't have to watch the whole thing, i'm such a goofy kid i waited until the caboose came by.........!

you can't ever say i never take you anywhere..........lol!
It is this incredible gift that brings added layers to a quiet life.  It's not running, it's not being on the soccer field.........but for a girl in a quiet room on a late September morn, it is a gift that brings gladness........I feel .....I hear the train.  It is at least 8 to 10 miles away, but because my pain levels are coming down........this awareness.......this gift that God has allowed me to embrace within my quiet little world.......makes me sigh and tear up with happiness.
As I padded into this room to write to you, I was surprised to see that the angels had already washed the streets this morning with gentle rain.  So quiet, so still.......the view from my window is soft......thousands of leaves greet me today......the sturdy trunks of the trees lend me some of their strength.  I feel less lonely with these old friends.  If I am able perhaps I can go out in a bit and bring in some roses........velvet petals and sweet perfume.........how could I not be glad of this day?
The children......the furchildren are playing.  4 year old Annie and not quite two year old Rio are alert, lively and celebrating that "Mum" is coming back to life.  Up more, moving about the craft......humming a little.......puttering more often.  All good signs.
And.........I got to have a spontaneous out of the blue evening with my son on Sunday.  He is home, well safe and happy after his trip.  We had a lovely time chatting, looking at his pictures.  He tells me that they will all be on his ??? some kind of box account soon.........he'll send something to me so I can access them or maybe he said he needs something from me so he can ........what?  Not sure.  I think it had something to do with a wifi password.  Is this something I know?  Not readily.........ah well.......it will all work out right?  No need to get my feathers in a bunch.
There is an impressive spider in an even more impressive web just outside the french doors behind me.  Becoming friends with long legged buggers does not come naturally ..... i am however a huge fan of creativity and architecture.  The tiny droplets of water outline this creatures masterpiece.......I stare at the web and can't help but shudder at the spider. It's easier to be brave on this side of the glass!
I can't seem to eat much at all lately......and when I take that horrid blue pill I will need to sleep for at least an hour or so.......cause it brings morning sickness as surely as the stork brings a baby.  Hopefully the blue pill will deliver me from the evil of this infection soon......and I can cradle time without nausea asap.
If you like great classics you might enjoy this one today....
Earth Wind & Fire......playing "September"........I love the beginning especially when the horns come in:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQf9dtrc26A
makes me smile..........every time.
One more slow twirl in my chair before the world goes spinny round round again too fast from the medicine. ......yes Sam did bring me some sweet and funny treasures back from the orient.......but the very best things he gave me were his hugs.  He gives the best hugs, he holds on tight, he's still glad to hug on my neck and share his adventures and that is ........that is so special.  yeah, I'm tearing up again........my tall grown up son is home sweet home.  Praise the Lord for bringing him back safely.
A furry paw just swatted my slipper........I suppose I have made Annie & Rio wait long enough for breakfast....a furbaby mom's job is never done...........gonna give you a hug now........cause you're so precious to me.
I get to go rest now.  happy happy joy joy.

Serce, Thank you for your poetic journal entry. I always feel like I\'ve read some Emily Dickinson or someone akin to her when I read your journal. You have a gift with words and images! I love the sound of a train too! I am glad you had the strength today to perk up your ears and pay attention as it made it\'s way down the tracks. Glad to hear Sam made it home - I\'m most at peace when my grown kids are nearby, all safe and sound.

\"September\" is one of my all-time favorites. Good stuff, good stuff. Fall is a great time to appreciate nature. We just have to be sure to enjoy it before it is gone! So glad you had time with your son!

I enjoyed ur journal so very much.... tree trunk s also make me feel grounded and strong. I like touching the trunk of a tree and drawing from its strength. I am totally a tree hugger. I couldn\'t get the train segment up. I noticed that on my own reference... hmm. Doing great now.... now that im back on my medication.... it was a tough go... but got it figured out.... so glad u had a beautiful morning and enjoying that coming is Autumn. Xxoo

I love the sound of the train.....we have one too! I know the peace that it brings to hear that sound...far off in the distance. We chronically ill folks DO appreciate the sounds thatother\'s never hear, or maybe they even find those sounds distracting or annoying! NOT US! OH NO!! We love those sounds.

You are so right about the colors of Autumn. Our trees are beginning to turn. Not a lot of trees..just some, but I love this time of year. My body does better, as it gets cooler.

I\'m so happy that your pain levels are coming down and that you feel a wee bit better. As you say, in our lives a wee bit, is no small thing.

Wonderful hugs and conversation with Sam. What a blessing eh! So happy he is safely home!!!!
