checking in.

Hello Sweet Pea.......How are YOU?

I'm hanging in there.  Mouth is healing......a few more days of penicillin to take......and every day the pain is less and less.  The big bad tooth is gone and later this month brings a bridge.  Don't know a lot about the bridge thing in dental world.....are they comfortable?  Will it be weird, hard to chew stuff?

Guess I'll be finding out......had the MRI yesterday.  No clue when I get the results of the MRI or when I get the results of my lab work.  I don't know a whole lot about my own life.  Oh well.....

I am making bacon.  Woke early.....been puttering around the old homestead......and realized I had rumblies in my tumblie.  So I'm making the bacon and a couple of poached eggs.  PROTEIN TIME.

Bruce came yesterday and made the yard look loverly.......Debbie comes today to make the inside clean and shiny.  So life is on a good track.

So glad I took a winter sweater with me yesterday and some skip proof slipper socks.  It is freakishly cold in those rooms.  Felt like cryogenic preservation.  The tech wasn't much of a talker.  She was on it at the beginning, got me set up.......laid down, propped my knees up......blankie'd me........and said if I could hold very very still I could cut the time of the test way down.

I tried really hard to be still and quiet.  I suppose what I don't understand is that after she told me to be quiet she never said another word until it was done.......and then she said, "OK, you are done."

I've had quite a few MRI's in the last decade plus and she wins the award for least talkative tech ever.  Every other time I've had an MRI the tech would say things like:

OK we're beginning the first series.  It will last approximately X # of minutes.  Are you OK?  Are you ready?

Hey Ruth, you're doing great?  Still OK in there?  This next series will last apx x # of minutes.  Are you ready?

And so on.......they aren't normally leaving you out in the boat in the fog all by yourself.  Personally I don't like being at sea feeling darkness surrounding my thoughts.  I pray a lot.......it usually starts off with "Dear Heavenly Father, Help me be calm, to just breathe.  to be.......somewhere along the way I just space out and drift.  On the water........wishing the MRI could be a quieter machine.  And wishing they had headphones with music.....they gave me some ear plugs.  But music really eases my mind......

At the end she was already prepping for the next patient.  She was a brusque kind of gal......intimidating.  The lady I first met was very smiley and kind, this lady was someone else.  I obviously spend way to much time alone......cause if I weren't these things wouldn't be so amplified .....right?  Seems like it could be right........I over notice and analyze too much prolly......

She helped me up.....when I came in I had trouble getting up on the table.  She didn't lean in to aid me.......and I wasn't allowed to bring my cane in....so I kind of did a little hippity hop manerver to get on the table.......my feeties were dangling.  So at the end it was weird that now my feet easily landed on the floor, I didn't have to maneuver.......I didn't know those big tables raised and lowered........but they must.  She helped me up......but seemed very distracted cause as she was bringing me up.......I started to fall back down.......she let go of me too early.  But she caught me.......so yay.  After tests I get so stiff and light headed.......she should know these things......but like I say she was distracted.  She told me to change.....and then disappeared so I had to limp in that odd duck way to my cane in the next room.  Seems like she should have walked me to the cane......but what do I know?

Made me wonder how long she's been a tech.......that perhaps this was something she did as a second career?  I got my stuff back on......I didn't have to change exactly just remove metal infused items........so anyhoo I walk out of the dressing room and no one is there.  I can hear the lady already testing the next lady.......so I just stand there like a little lost duck.  Unsure........finally someone walked out.....so I asked her if I was done.....could I go?  She went off to ask the tech, who I heard say, "Oh yeah, I told her to wait, that I would come out and escort her back to the front. This office like so many doctor offices is a labyrinth.  They should give you corn nuts or bread or peanuts so you can leave a trail leading you back out..........

I am tired........watered the plants outside and got my pink suede shoes wet.......so DUMB,  I have tall gardening boots and TOTALLY forgot to put them on.....until it was TOO LATE BABY!

Laundry done, a stack of mail to handle later.......prayer to see if I can go to Bible Study.  tonight at 7 pm.......I hope I hope I hope I can.

Saw Sam on Monday.......he came by and helped with some honey do's.  Moved some things around for me, got the big stack of firewood out of my trunk and stacked in the backyard ......hope to have a few fire pit nights complete with marshmallowy s'more maybe maybe!  Sam seems troubled ......working through something, makes me sad for him.  Send up a prayer for him to find his way.......overall his life is good.  Truly, but their is one thing that .....well like I said, he seems frustrated and sad. He was a big help to me......and I hope we can do something ....see a movie or something soon!

So um.....hi, how is you???? Talked to Sara, she had to go to the ER two nights ago for her tummy.......she thinks it's an ulcer.  She has struggled with tummy issues......and the silent reflux for a long time. But this pain is very concerning. They did some tests......that said she is fine, but she is sooo not fine.  OF course she acted very dismissive about it.....I told her I am your Mom, I'm not gonna freak out or anything sweetie, but this is concerning and we need to get to the bottom of this.......they did give her a med, forgot the name of it, starts with a K I think.....that coats her innards and relieves the pain also.   She and her mate are going to Boston to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary in early November.  Their anniversary is actually this month, but they can't work it out schedule wise until then.  I've never been to Boston.......she said they picked it based on Autumn Leaves......wanting to go to the New England area, but worried that there might be a chance of early winter if they went further north.......I'm sure they will have a great time. Boston is a very exciting historic city......lots to see and do!

Please pray for Sara..especially this tummy issue!  thanks so much!

And she said she is very much looking forward to our upcoming trip to the mountains.  I sent bruce a note asking if he could watch over the house and take care of my kitties.....I sure hope he is able to cover the bases for me........it would give me a lot of peace of mind.

My job is to come up with some fun things to do for our trip.......since we go to the same place preplanning for new adventures really helps make it fun......if we want to cancel or not do something there is nothing written in stone......but it's nice to have some ideas going in.......OK love to you......hugs and fresh prayers for your life and well being.

After breakfast I think I will be passing out........xoxoxo.

Hey there Ruthie blue eyes from Georgia. Congrats on making it through the MRI. I'm claustrophobic so those MRI machines are terrifying for me. When the staff see me coming they all run and hide or put up a "We're closed today " sign. Lol ! If they don't agree to let me out when I'm freaking, I just refuse to get in. It's a major deal. They have to promise they will let me out if needed, and promise to talk to me and guide me through like a ten year old. I have to have someone stand beside the machine and touch my leg or ankle. I'm a nightmare patient for them. I think my claustrophobia started when I was locked inside a suitcase as a toddler by my older brother and nearly suffocated. Also being locked in a room for 5 days at 19yrs didn't help either. I hate that the lady who did your MRI didn't comfort you and talk you through it all. There's a real lacking in this day and age with personalized care. Hospitals are guilty of it too. The nurturing has vanished to a strong degree and the staff all sit and stare into the computers like robots. They are not connected in that loving tuned in human way. The reciprocation is all bent out of whack.
I'm glad Bruce is still coming and you are feeling joy when you look at your lovely garden. I was wondering how the dog scene with the neighbours was going.
I hope Sara will be alright with her stomach issues, it is obviously worrying you.Hope Sam will cheer up.He always sounds like a very together guy so I'm sure he will handle whatever the problem is. Yij are doing well Ruthie. Getting tests done and your dental problems are slowly improving. Step by step hey. How lovely that you have an upcoming trip with Sara again. Pretty special for you. Just what you need to feel close to her and lift your spirits up.
My sister in law is coming to visit me today. She is the wife of my younger brother who lives 5 mins away hut never comes to see me. I had a big meltdown and phoned her crying .We have lived in this rental property for over 8yrs, since I Iost my beautiful home, and my brother or his family haven't been here once to see me. I'm hurt.Painfully hurt and also don't understand any of it. Jy brother is running his business so he is not coming but at least my sister inlaw and my famous footballer nephew and his one year old are coming. I hope I don't embarrass myself and crack up infront of them today. I will be struggling to make them a drink as I'm so weak after this virus and being in hospital etc. Nobody ever sees me in this state so this is a biggy for me. Frank has gone to the shop and I wish he was here to talk with them. Anyway whatever happens happens. I am forcing some changes in my life due to feeling desperately isolated. Love you Ruthie.xo

Ruthie, I'm so glad you made it through your tooth extraction. You dodged the "dry socket" problem that can follow, and you kept the infection at bay. So far, so good. I don't like MRIs. I can't do the lying down ones because of my vertigo, so I have to drive an hour to a stand up/sit down MRI. I have always had the techs talk me through it - keeping me up on the progress of the test. All the medical facilities I use now send surveys afterwards - one ultrasound tech told me there is so much competition today that they can't do things the old way - the patient is in the driver's seat now! If you had fallen without your cane, they could have had a lawsuit on their hands. I"m glad you didn't fall! Although if you'd won a lawsuit, you could live it up! Haha! I'll be praying for Sam and Sara - and I hope you have a wonderful getaway.
