chatty energy, watch out!
sunday.....sweet sunday.
wishing you a late good morning.....hello!
got some to do's done this week......yay! gold star!
got copies of the documents made (includes form from my electric utility co & the sleep doctor) which mean in case of electrical loss i am now on a critical care list. i don't feel as critical as one on full time oxygen and yet it is still very important to my health, so i am doing what the dr. recommended. copies made and mailed. done.
but being a total silly me i also took an unopened jar of peanut butter along. a stubborn jar that would not OPEN no matter what i did....i prayed, i pried, i got mad, i almost threw it, but relented and tried to focus on being a grown up person. so frustrating, me no can open me no peanut butter.........sheez!
so i took it with me into the post office.....said, "Self, be brave, live without embarrassment, you need help, ask the first qualified stranger you see for help......!"
never think that God is without a sense of humor within this crazy world......the Bible verse says,"Ask and you shall receive."
well i had just asked, walked through those electronic doors and this man turned round. not just any man, a very talll, very muscular, toned to a new level of buff.......mercy!......and handsome too boot. i may be ten seconds from 63, but i can appreciate God's creations in all forms.....and he was a fine creation. just sayin.....still not dead in this southern cottage.
so i shucked my skip it feelings and asked him for a random act of kindness.....that was what fell out of my mouth. and went on to explain before he ran away, that i truly needed help with something, minor for most but a struggle for me and that is when i pulled my jar of creamy peanut butter out of my bag and said, "hon, can you please open this for me.....?" like an old fashioned female would do. then i said, "no, there's no camera, it's really just an incredibly random favor.......
he actually scanned the ceiling for a sec....then we both laughed.......he opened that jar lickety split and i shook his hand, said i'd tried to conquer the jar for more than a week and couldn't wait to have a peanut butter & jelly sandwich when i got home!
he was so kind.......the world moved on. i ran my car through the car wash, had a free coupon to use from the day i got my emissions done (for my car)......vacuumed the front seat and trunk.....got gas and got a few things at the grocery store.
then i was ready to go home, tuckered as can be......but when i got in i made that sandwich and it was AWESOME, the wait and the funny ask at the post office made it the BEST sandwich since I can't remember!!!!!! nummy yumminess!!!!!!
my world is a bit of simple and a lot of waiting.......appreciate the simple things and relish the goodness of it.
my car sticker came this week in the mail, so my car is TAGGED for another year.......! done!!!!! this is for car emissions, clean air....
says my car is road worthy......
doing chores this morning......and made ground beef for tacos for dinner tonight. i only use a half packet of low sodium taco seasoning as i like the flavor but can't tolerate too much of it.......it's kind of naughty but there you are......gotta give Santa reasons to check in with my lifestyle.........
dishes, laundry, cat litter fresh.......done and done and done.....cat food restocked. stuff that keeps Sparrow Cottage running smoothly.
listening to Carly Simon again ....... feel pretty decent. my glands are swollen, ears hurt and sinuses are chronically impaired, but overall i feel like a person. thankful, thankful, thankful......
my longtime friend from DS suffered a stroke, he is currently in rehab.......he's hanging in there, wish i could take him flowers and visit him. he loves listening to the statler brothers......he is kind and has always been a considerate caring pal......pray for him (for Mike) with me....please. want him to recuperate - do well.
this week another dear DS friend and i spoke live, that really lifted my spirits, it felt like such a normal person thing to do.....to talk to and laugh with, to confide in and listen to a dear friend......someone who understands this life of challenge and is a total sweetheart.
elle, you rock!!!!!!!!!
i feel blessed.......and then yesterday as i was doing chores my phone rang and my doorbell rang at the same time......mid afternoon, in my jammies and my robe that had a big stain on the cuff.......didn't see the stain til i was opening the front door.......my neighbors Kari and Ryan stopping by for a visit. i had suggested that we talk live, but they never said yay or nay as yet, until they were on my doorstep. they bought a beautiful home 30 minutes north of this neighborhood, a 15 minute commute for their work......it's gorgeous! A large brick 5 bedroom home with a fully furnished basement. It is a daylight basement with a kitchenette/private bath, perfect for family and friends when they come to visit......so excited for them!
They have been moving their things as they can......got movers for the big stuff and moved the rest with some help and getting it finished up on the week ends.......they are pretty close to done. They stayed for a couple of hours, a really good catch up! They offered to be a help to me if I need it......which is very kind. They invited me to come see their new home when I'm up to it.....the pics I saw were so lovely, a huge open concept living space with a very pretty fireplace.....hardwood floors......great kitchen! For a moment I felt the end of my life staring me in the face, but pushed it away to be joyful......to be happy with them!
It's a damp sprinkly rain day here, not cold......not bad. ......time for me to get under the blanket and be quiet for awhile. got a lot done, need to chill now.......hugs to you!!!!!!

Ruthie your Sunday journal is beautiful and filled with your lovely spirit. So glad Ellie called you. I hope your other friend heals quickly. Glad your feeling a bit better and you got that jar of PB open by a handsome guy!! And that your new neighbors visited and offered to help. Good. ❤️You
I said a pray for Mike. Hoping he makes a great recovery. Chatting was so much fun! We still have about 60 years of time before we knew each other to catch up on, so I think there will be more phone calls down the road. :-)
Glad your friends stopped by!
Love the peanut butter story! Haha!
