chasing after someone else's rules
I want to work, I want to earn money.
Part of the enthusiasm that I am pumping myself up
with now as I search is making me aware that I'm sort of
seeking out and serving after someone else's rules
as a result. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but maybe it's good for me to
be awake to this, to not know what I am doing and then burn myself
down with anxiety and pressure is the definitely the downside to ignorance here. It definitely is an equalizing thought
and brings me down to earth about who the boss is and how they
are as leaders. I aim to do a good job and I am enthusiastic about
the success of the business I work for. I guess I am just regaining
the idea what or how people
might be behaving at work or what is expected of me ..

What type of work or rather what would your dream job be?
Working here at the monastery is really my dedication but I’d like to work part time at bookstore or pet shop amongst other places.
Just to bring some money in. I’d love to work in an office or something creative but as it has to be part time, I’m looking at peaceful jobs. I worked in a bookstore for a couple of years. A great experience. Art and architecture books were sold there.
I have time and choices, talking it out is helping me think about it, thanks Bob!!
I got to remember to be humble and hope I meet an employer who is ready to give me an opportunity. It can’t be just about fulfilling an image for myself, that is a drill down that is not good for me.
And not helpful
Have you looked up parttime jobs available in your area sweetie?
What about a temp agency in your area?
Then you'd tell them when you're available
Thanks Janet! I have started looking. I will look for a temp agency too!
Summer time, so get out there before the college kids get out of school....maybe a library as well...since you have experience at a book store.
thanks mary louise! I hadn't thought about that!
There are usually many jobs like that, in retail. You might be able to find one fairly easy. That would be a great opportunity to share your light with others!....hugs
Thanks Bob! You are super special! I like you a lot!!
I applied for one position today…..!
my early shrinks hounded me unmercifully about my compulsive use of the royal we. now your post has me wondering if that use was a quest for universal rules which would never change and easily understood. other people's rules, of course. here, decades later, i feel like i read people far more accurately one on one than the royal we will ever allow. just wondering. . .
good luck on your job hunt. be picky. the ideal fit is worth the wait.
thanks arfie!!
