Objection #4: God isn't Worthy of Worship if He Kills Innocent Children. 1. What was the strongest part of his explanation? When Geisler pointed to God's compassion to the Ninavites, when He sent Jonah to warn them about their sin.  They repented and they were spared.  God did not have to send Jonah but he did.  2. Is the issue of God's character a "sticking point" in your spiritual journey? Why or why not? I have thought about why God would let children die from hunger or how he could allow genocide to happen.  I believe God allows things to happen for a reason, I may not understand why but I will have to trust Him, and with my trust issues that is not easy.3. Do Geisler's guidelines for interpreting Scripture make sense to you? Yes, they are logical I feel I should photocopy them and carry them around so I can remember them when needed. 4. Which ones have you seen violated by critics? Well the most obvious one is where the critics will take a passage out of context and twist it to suit their ends.5. Do you agree that it's resonable to give the Bible the benefit of the doubt on grounds that it has already proven reliable in numerous instances? Why or why not?  Yes, Geisler made a good point, just because he may not know the answer, doesn't mean that there isn't one.  Also I give people, news reports and lots of other things the benefit of the doubt, why can't I trust God in the same way.  6. What's your reaction to the quotation by former skeptic Edward Boyd?  I understand his fustration you just want a clear sign, but knowing myself as I do I would be to blind to see it.  7. Do you believe God has made it difficult for us to believe in him? No, but I do believe God calls people at different times and if God isn't calling you you will not believe.8. What's your biggest impediment to faith?  My fear of trusting, I am afraid to trust God, how awful it that, When I pray for other people I fully believe God is listening and will do what is best, but when it comes to myself I don't believe God will help me.  And I don't know why I feel this way, I should be over my childhood and the trust that was broken there.  9. What specific steps could you take to overcome this obstacle?  The only way to trust someone is to know more about them and to take a leap of faith, so I am going to learn more about Jesus and God and simply trust Him. 10. Have you been stumped by an apparent discrepancy or contradiction in the Bible? If so, how would you go about researching an answer? I have, and have found the answer on the internet.  It was a good chapter and gave me a lot to think about.   Lately, I have been doing better.  My husband and I have been talking about maybe having another baby, or at least starting to try when my 11th month old is one year. I would like to have another child but financially we are not in the best place right now.  We are going to pray about it.    Lord please let us know your will.
