Chapter 2
Chapter 2 of the Case for Christ Objection #2 Since Miracles contradict science They cannot be True. 1. After reading this interview, do you believe that miracles are possible? I believed before but it was nice for someone to logically work it out. 2. What would convince you that something miraculous had occurred? I guess something not easily explained away, something that felt like God had a hand in it.3. Do you believe the evidence of history establishes that the miraculous resurrection of Jesus actually took place? Why or why not? I believe it does, although even with all that I have thoughts that run through my head that I know are not true. Even with Doubts I still believe in Jesus and His resurrection.4. Which one of Craig's arguments for the existence of God was most persuasive to you? Why? The universe origin had to come from somewhere, even the big bang had to come from something. I also think that God makes sense of the resurrection, because only God could cause that to occur. 5. Taken together, do these five points convince you that it's rational to believe in the existence of a miracle-working God? I was already convinced, but it is awesome to have someone who is logical to lay it out like that.6. Craig prayed for God to miraculously cure his medical condition, but he hasn't. What do you think of his reaction to that? He has a good attitude, he believes that God didn't heal him because he learned so much from his disability and he wouldn't be the same person he is today, if he had been healed.7. Have you prayed for God to intervene with a miracle in your life? Yes, several different ones for healing for myself and for others. 8. What happened? God healed me of some ills but not others. I asked God to heal my grandparents who died of cancer, He didn't. But I almost died due to an eptopic pregnancy, but God put the right doctor in place to save me. I prayed for a week for the pain to stop and saw a couple of different doctors spent a couple of days in the hospital and then was sent home still in pain, went back to the emergency room and this time a different doctor was on call and he figured it out and saved my life. This to me was a gift from God.9. How has this affected your attitude toward God? I am grateful for God's gift to me, I don't understand why he answers some prayers but not others. I hope this only strengthens my bond with God, even if there is momentary bitterness when my prayers go unanswered. I pray that I will learn to trust God more and more.10. In what way was Craig's response to his situation helpful or not helpful to you? It was helpful to see how others respond and I believe he responded rightly, I hope to be a muture Christian like he is one day. I believe in miracles from God. I still ask why when bad things happen. Do you ever stop asking? I pray to trust God more each day. I went back to the doctor today to see about the test results, they all came back normal. Which is good I am glad that they came back well. But I am still dizzy, nauseous, and achy. Not all the time but it comes and goes. I wanted the doctor to run more tests to find out the reason, but my doctor only wants to run blood tests but nothing else, I want to know what is going on why am I in pain. Why??? I guess all I can do is trust in God and I pray he will direct my next step. Do I go back, do I keep pushing, what now, wait to see if it gets worse? Please Lord help me. What do I do now? I trust God and His will for my Life.
